The Gods hate a quitter.

Stenet just gives Azrael a bit of a dirty look, then sighs.

"Right, Azrael is volunteering to go fishing.  Jednesa you got rope lowering duty, the rest of us will keep watch, make sure nothing interrupts this."

He looks around for something to tie the rope off to, "We should tie one end off, in case Jednesa has to drop it to fight."

In reply to Stenet Fjall (msg # 201):

Haskell uses his rope skills to put a couple of loops in the rope, so that Azrael can put a foot in one loop, and one hand through the other, so he can be lowered just to the surface of the water.

Jednesa prepares to lower Azrael into the well.

Christine had been distracted by the other buildings.

"Would it be possible to simply cover the well and come back to it tomorrow? If there is nothing down there that can attack us during the night, perhaps it is better to clear out these buildings and then deal with the well in the morning?"

Perhaps what is in the well will drive off the demons, as they certainly wanted it far away quickly.

In reply to Azrael (msg # 205):

She pauses.

"It may well be useful, but we are running out of daylight. Perhaps 2 folk, say Azreal and Stenet, can stay and fish it out while the rest of us go to start clearing out the last remaining building, and you can catch up to us. But I might just ask Crispin to help you, providing light as well as scouting down to the water level. But he will not want to get wet..."

She will attempt to summon Crispin, but unsuccessfully.

"Well, I guess he is not so keen to help. Now the rest of us need to make the most of what daylight we have left. Let us head to the remaining building..."

She starts off in that direction.

Azrael shrugs and follows, knowing Stenet's lack of desire to do the job.

"Right.  Then let's go."

Stenet takes up the rear and keeps a weather eye for Doomchildren.

Jednesa looks confused for a moment.  Then she shrugs and takes up the lead striding off to the last building.

"Well, damn. Here we go then. What was that thing supposed  to do again?"

"If I recall, it was a set of sacred silver bells. I think the sound creates sanctity."

"We definitely need that before we go down into area below the winery.  But we can get it tomorrow first thing."

In reply to Stenet Fjall (msg # 212):

"We did the winery. The chapter house, and presumably the Abbot's quarters are what is left. I think we have only seen minions, the remains of themonks and their offspring. I am waiting for the other shoe to drop."

"Probably where the succubus is hold up at.  I also expect something nasty down below the winery."

"We just came out of the winery! There was no further underneath."

In reply to Malga'Mar (msg # 215):

"Stenet, given we have just cleared the winery, as far as I know, is there something about the building we just came out of that you know that we do not? Otherwise, we can head over to the Chapter house."

"That elevator.  Might also lead further down.  All we did was barricade the door.  Didn't check the shaft or nothing."





OOC:  I went back and reread it.  Looks like I mistook it for having a 'way further down', when it was just to raise the barrels.. somewhere?  Have we seen the area the elevator goes to?

The (broken) elevator was to raise the barrels to ground level from the cellar.

The chapter house ahead has a covered walkway leading to it, and a flagstone path that leads past the infirmary toward the chapel and refrectory.

Christine will direct Jednessa and others to head towards the covered walkway with usual caution.

I tuck my gear back into my pack and join the others at the covered walkway while slipping my shield back on.
