OOC:  Was this 'Cecil' a part of the Bishop's retinue when Stenet was appointed as his representative on this expedition?

Cecil was the secular lieutenant of the bishop, and believed by many to be his half brother. He is a blue haired half elven fellow, and a paladin of the church.

OOC:  If the Tripartite Church uses the Catholic addressing system, Right Reverend would be a mild faux pas/insult to His Excellency the Bishop.  This is a further slight dig at Cecil for being such lap dog...

The bishop, like his half brother, is wearing plate armor and ecclesiastical  robes, and his helm has a miter.

Stenet inclines his head, "Your Excellency.  The grounds are free of demons and undead and the desecration has been been cleansed and reconsecrated."

"We had hastened here when one of our agents informed us that House D'Ivoire troops were on the way here. We saw some bodies in their livery. What is the status on the rest of those accursed agents of the adversary?"

"Pardon, your grace, but this woman seems familiar to me."
He withdraws a locket from his armor.

The rest of the bishop's retinue is wearing gambesons with light cuirasses and wide brimmed helms, armed with shortswords and crossbows. There are about a dozen of them afoot, and mounted like Cecil and the Bishop, are another four, these wearing brigandine, and armored with shields, maces,  and broadswords.

You were hired on the writ of the Bishop, by Camilla, but did not meet with him until now.

With a look toward his brother, the half elf unrolls a scroll.
"There was an agreement of a flat rate for each surviving member of the expedition, and a bounty for each of the Holy book of the Three, our sacred scripture, the Illuminated lives of the saints, the High holy symbol of the Triune Godhead, the sacred Crozier, the Golden Monstrance, and the Blessed Bells."
He lowers the scroll, and pulls a locket on a chain out of his armor and opens it, displaying a miniature painting of a mountain elf who closely resembles Christine.
"Madame, I was left with my father a year after my mother passed through his court and occupied much of his attention. She was a mandolin player named Marie. I swear, you have the very image of her! Are you my mother?"

"Such suspicion is warranted. Do you have any of the holy water left that I had Camilla deliver to you? You could anoint me with it to see that I am not among the ranks of the infernal. If that is not enough, I would swear on the holy scripture if you wish. Lying while doing so would cost me my hand."

In reply to Bishop of Sonne (msg # 872):

"Lets do both, if we have any holy water."

Once Jednessa brings out the cart she will do both tests to be sure.

Stenet gives Christine a weird look for a moment, then says, "Christine, do you have a holy book of the Tripartite God?  If not... and his Excellency were a shapeshifting evil demon, do you think he'd suggest a manner capable of outing himself and then just hand you the tool needed to out him?  I... really?"

He stops and rubs his face.

"Look, I'm pretty sure this is his Excellency the Bishop.  But, if you're not sure, then...  Dareos, Azrael?  Either of you gents know of any means to unmask a demon aside from carving it's heart out of it's chest?  I'm pretty one note in that regard...  Maybe ring the bell, that worked well on the imps."
