"Do we want to find out what's in there without making a stinky mess?  I can help."

I glance around to see any approving or disapproving looks from my companions.

You might be able to dredge it with somethi g wooden, like a railing from a collapsed walkway.

After glancing about for a second to find an empty barrel, I wave my tentacled fingers over the briny soup as I pull out a small rope and make a loop around the top of the empty one.


Jednesa, pick this barrel up and pour it's contents through this loop into the other barrel.

After some shifting with barrels from the other chamber, you find the remains of a jeweled set of golden prayer beads. The condition is bad, but it should be worth a good amount. This item is not on the list of missing artifacts, and this item probably was a holy symbol but has probably been defiled.

The golem grasps the set of prayer beads in one hand, hefting its pick in the other, and you step out into the daylight. You see the chapter house, and a number of smouldering dead wights that had been tossed out the door.

Jednesa leads the way out into the courtyard and heads off towards the chapter house (once someone points at it) carefully avoiding the still burning wights.

Stenet brings up the rear keeping a wary eye on the winery.

I re-collect my things and follow.  I give Stenet a smile as I pass.

I join the parade, somewhere in the middle.

As you cross the courtyard, you notice the well beside the dead herb garden. Malga'Mar pauses thoughtfully beside it.

Poisoned no doubt?

Stenet looks down into the well, trying to see if there is anything down in there.

There looks ti be something whitish diwn at the bottom of the well.

I dig through my pack for my Bull's Eye Lantern and light it.

I walk to the well, my open pack in one hand, and lantern in the other.

"Here we go, this ought to help."

I'll shine it down the well.  If I can't get decent light to where it needs to go, I'll lower it slowly on my 20 yards of rope.

About 4 yards down, there is the surface of the water. Something faint and white can be seen at an uncertain depth below that.

I find a place to secure my rope so the lantern as high as I can and still see the object fairly well.  I dig the grapnel out of my pack and start tying it to the other half of my rope.

"Want to go fishing, Stenet?"

"If you mean to hook the object, I'm all for it.  But if you mean to get lowered down in there, no.  Not while there's still demons hiding up here.  Wouldn't be prudent."

I will go down if the water isn't too deep, as I can't swim.

At this distance, you are looking at -7 to hook the package. Someone at the depth of the water's surface with adequate lighting would be at -2.
