Thanks for the offer... but I think a PM thread will be easier to find in a year when this one slides down onto page two or three...  ;)

Jareth Mooncalled:
We have $276 in the house kitty, which is why I'm looking at cost cutting methods...

Base - Junior House - pooled [1]
Independent Income - pooled [1]

Alright, Nodwin is two points in, Mario is a full four points (so his share is paid off), Jocelyn is 2 points in, Jareth has 2 point in (and I'm looking at making it 4 this time), I can't remember Mel and Brodak's contribution level at the moment (and I'm doing 12 hour shifts so no time to go hunting)... so in just 3 'adventures' we halfway paid it off.

Brodak has the following:
Junior House [2]
Independent Income  [2]

There is some silver, not far below, and a bit to the north....somewhere in the near vicinity of the dead cultist room.

Re: Near the bone gate

OOC:  I'd like to point out we still haven't sold the Puissant Sword or it's Wish Stone.  Are we stashing it to be stolen while our backs are turned or taking it with us to be lost in a particularly bad moment?  Or can we finish with selling stuff before tooling up for another stroll into the sewers?

Or do we want to *fakeshudder* split the party?

We sell the sword first ... the silver did not seem to be moving, so it can wait a little.

Re: Near the bone gate

In reply to Jocelyn Lemru (msg # 811):

Shield question kind of left hanging. You mentioned that you did not like large bucklers, and would not accept large shields being modified with the buckler grip. Given Clarence has the buckler specialty, do you accept the Homeric Bucklers from LT 115, with the Boss replaced by a Lantern Hook? It utilises a guige to take some of the weight off the arm.

Homeric Buckler, $150, DR/HP 4/22, 9 cover DR, 18.5 lbs
  No Boss      -$25 -2 lbs
Lantern Hook, $20, 0.5 lbs (Low Tech Companion, shield options)

or

Heater Shield, Buckler grip modification $90, 13.5 lbs, DR4, 19 HP, Cover DR 8, DB2
(Shield is a Heater Shield, since you said Mycenaean was too big for a buckler,
    +Buckler Grip ($20, 2lb), -Boss (-$25, -2 lbs), from LT Companion 2, Warriors, P19.)
Lantern Hook, $20, 0.5 lbs (Low Tech Companion, shield options)

In reply to Clarence Montague (msg # 812):

I don't have LT companion, so I am not trying to do all these modifications. You can have only up to a medium shield as a buckler.

Everything except the sword and its stone are sold.  You need to make use of jeweler skill to extract the stone. That would cost you $20 to pay a craftsman to do.

"One in silver for a jeweler to extract the stone seems a reasonable investment, unless one of us has the skill for it (that would let me out)."

In reply to Narrator (msg # 813):

Ok, no more than medium shield as buckler, so disallow the Homeric Buckler from LT. When you say you are 'not trying to do all these modifications', you mean you are disallowing them? Sorry, the wording is a little confusing for me.

No way to just sell it as a set unit?  Or is that we know we have a buyer for the sword alone and need to hunt down a buyer for the Wish Stone separately?

I really like the OOC suggestion of using the wish stone to create the lab.

Or, give us X character points apiece...  :D

Re: Near the bone gate

OOC: Isn't that what we're trying to do?  Use the stone to generate wealth, I mean -- by selling it to someone reasonably trustworthy.  Maybe it's just from playing D&D for years with a DM who made all wishes cursed wishes, but I'm just not very comfortable with actually attempting to use the stone, or with turning it over to someone of questionable motives (i.e. the Guild in general).

Oh well... the Lord hates a quitter... I say go for it.  Any limits on how long the wish can be? I'd expect too many 'ands' could cause issues.

Re: Near the bone gate

OOC:
Magic says a Great Wish should sell for 100K$, but as per standard Slow and Sure enchantment it should sell for 40K$, so let's just go with the lower value for this hypothetical.

If we sold it, we'd net about 1,600$ (at most, if sold at 100k$, we get 40k$).

An Alchemy Laboratory runs 2k$.  A Fine Lab costs 10k$, a Very Fine Lab runs 40k$.

So if we sell it, we cannot likely even afford a basic Lab.

(Note, Herb Lore and Poison brewing may be performed at an Alchemy Lab.)

As for wishing for Character points, it won't add more than 20 Character points total... so roughly 3 points each.

20 points used as Points for Cash is 10k$.  10K$ could get two labs (so two people could be working at once on different potions), some furniture, and a solid pair of doors to keep the oozes and gelatinous cylinders out.
