Oly moves forward to the edge of the balcony where he can see what is going on... then moves down the stairs to recover his knife if nothing more. If he passes behind the guy Ardenas is fighting, he'll backstab him.

"Good grief!"  Ardenas wishes momentarily for a bo staff or even something heavier as he strikes the champion once again.

Kalima shakes off the stunning she recieved when the ectoplasmic tentacled thing exploded,and looks around for more demons, but finds none. She settles for grabbing a cultist.

Aoife looks for that lesser demon she hit before...or any other targets.

Ardenas also looks around for someone who isn't retreating.  If they're trying to leave, he'll let them go, but if they're still fighting, he'll oblige.

Kalima smacks one of the cultists to the floor. Few are left, as those not dead or fleeing appear to be stunned, and. drooling, with nosebleeds.

Aoife pauses and makes sure none are fighting. She will try to work out how much of a threat the drooling idiots are....

Ardenas, noting there are no cultists still offering to fight, begins checking the stunned ones to see if he can determine how deeply they're affected.

OOC: he does not take off the silver knuckledusters, so if any have acquired an aversion to silver...

Some folks may merely have lingering strange dreams, others suffer from diminished capacity, or degenerated mental habits, a few may suffer stroke or lapse into a coma....


Failed FC, some critical. Six out of maybe forty seem affected this way. A dozen and a half are dead or unconscious, perhaps a dozen ran away, but are probably not unscathed, and may have lasting mental affects.

Looking around the ichor-spattered room after his triage pass, Ardenas shakes his head.

"Most of these people probably had no idea what they were getting into."

There are an assortment of items scattered about the room in addition to the dead ad dying cultists; the robes worn by a leader look differet, thete is the sliver sword, the book, and various personal effects of the cultists, incuding the armor worn by their champion.

Oly will start picking up things, like the sword, the book etc. ; he'll also look for coin purses.

Ardenas, can you carry the armor?

Aoife will go over to peruse the book to see what can be gleaned from it.

Now that a way clear has been made Mancini comes down from the stairs to inspect the damage. As he passes a blob of ichor, he grabs  a sample  for the Guild sorcerers to study.


"Well, the crisis is averted for now", he says, joining Aoife. " Have our friends spoken yet?" Mancini hoped not, for interrogating these scum bags would be something he wanted to be a part of, especially if it gave him an excuse to run his rapier through them.

"I can carry that, though I make no promise not to drop it without warning if we run into something that requires fighting or running."

The book  is disturbing. It is full of mad scribbling, and glyphs that are peculiar, along with illustrations of monstrous things. The writing seems to haphazardly flow through a variety of languages in a nonsensical manner. You could swear one of the illustrations was looking back at you.

Aoife is a little disturbed by what she sees, but she keeps herself under control. She tries to Cary the book, but after closing it she has to ask for someone else to carry it.
