The road to Veroignr
The party is walking back to the farm. Balir stops outside the tower and does not move. He will not leave even if the rest of the group does not appear to be stopping. The whole time he complains more about their current activity.
"Ve could have been done by nightfall. Zey were easy. Not even a challenge for Earthwarden. Ve are leaving riches behind, and zey vill surely hide zem. I hate zat ve are doing zis...."
Balir will not stop complaining to anyone who will listen.
[Private to GM: Based on my read of the character, most of his disads are in play here.
Chummy - Balir will talk the whole time.
Greed - he failed his control roll, so he really wants the cash, and right now.
Overconfidence - He's thinking about trying the tower himself.
Stubbornness - he won't let it go.
This one is arguable, since they never challenged him directly.
Vow (Never refuse a Challenge)
What he has in his favor is the Sense of Duty to his Adventuring Companions. That got him this far. He also likes Kirpich, and the priest of Grom needs to rest. That he could see.
Totally antisocial here, but he didn't get wealthy letting money slip through his fingers.]
