Put it away where it does show, but can be pulled out easily enough... like a small leather pouch.

I would think so .. and the fire can be kept low and constructed so as to not spread a lot of light around, except for up.

This is why I asked for a damn order of watches. Kirpich can't have both a long sleep as stated plus being on whatever watch seems practical.

Balir sits up as he hears the high pitched noise, and a layer of the dust hits him square in the face.  He sputters a bit, but thankfully was just exhaling so he does not breath it in.

OOC  Balir will stand up, and equip his axe.

Aethul is startled awake by the noise, but the dust falls on the sleeping bag pulled over his head.

Balir blinks and shakes his head, and some dust shakes off.  Then he responds "I dunno, just reacted to ze noise."
