Balir shrugs.  "I am confident.  But the thought of having a vampyre salamander does make me pause.  I do not know the magicks involved, so I cannot say whether that might be possible or not.  But I hope not.

Also, would an equine even fit in here, and would it's smell bring the salamander here?  Or perhaps the vampyre?  If we make the decision, we want to make sure the lady and her children are safe."

OOC  Just voicing the concern that immediately came to me as the player.

OOC  In some vampyre environments, they just need blood.  Typically yes, it's human blood.  Balir wouldn't necessarily know that, however, so I thought it best to at least question that.

Balir's head snaps around at the comment made by the faun.  They had talked plenty during their travel.  Balir considered him a good companion, and had no ill will towards him.  However, this comment came off quite wrong.  "If I took your meaning right, that comes off as a little rude, considering her husband has just disappeared. She's probably very worried about his safety, and keeping her children alive."

The woman did not appear to have read any meaning i to the Faun's words, but he is, after all, a faun, and this is the forst woman he has seen since leaving Northport; it was raining at the Sahudese village. And at night...

"Have you seen him?  The beast digs like a mole, sometimes you can see its burrow  as it come close to the surface, and when very close, its back fin rises up like a fish aboat to breech."

Balir recognizes that it's possible the Faun's comment was innocent, although he doubts it. With a bit of an eye roll he speaks to the lady in a  ore even tone.  "We did not see him, no."
