No, if he is alive, we bring him here, then deal with the monsters...    He walks out the doors and starts looking for tracks...

In reply to Kirpich Rockson (msg # 911):

Kirpich lets him go.

"In that case, he can go look, and we will stay here to ensure you are safe at least. Unless, Ma'am, you wanted to come with us...there is no point ignoring the monster while we look for a person, as there will be nothing stopping the creature coming here and killing you and your family."

In reply to Kirpich Rockson (msg # 913):

Aethul finds a set of human tracks. That look to be run ing in a zigzag pattern. There are beast pri ts co.ingled with these, and then an area where the ground was recently disturbed, as if a large hoke was dug and collapsed into itself. The tracks continue for a while, gradually slowing, and stop near an area where the earth has errupted. Then there are more beast prints.

So a very reasonable assumption is that the poor man was eaten?

He returns with the sad news ...  This monster is most dangerous as he goes underground and then pops up under you with you in his open mouth.  That also says he can sense things on the surface while underground!

Balir raises an eyebrow.  "This creature is dangerous indeed.  Still, it has not seen an agry dwarf yet."

He then turns to the woman, and states in a somber or perhaps glum tone... "My sympathies."

Balir takes a knee, dropping his shield to rest on the bottom edge. His head tilts down, and he mumbles to himself.  The only word recognizable is "Federjung".  After a moment he stands, rearms himself with Earthwarden, and then asks "How can we assist you Ma'am?  I am very sorry for your loss, but that doesn't feed or clothe you."

Kirpich also expressed his sympathy, before turning to the others...

"Then perhaps this woman would be safer somewhere off the ground rather than in it. Are there any towers nearby. Without vampyre? Or 2 storey buildings?"

None that I saw,.... but tell me, if that creature swooped up your little golem in his mouth, would the golem have a chance of dealing it some damage?

It would die? ... I thought it impervious to the monsters bite and fire. Obviously a bad concept then, my apologies.

Balir scoffs, and then absently wipes spittle off his beard as he replies "You have a well armed dwarf in your number.  I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I doubt you'll need it.  The real question is how much it's scales and parts will bring at market.  I expect the remains of the beast will make us quite wealthy."

OOC  Yeah, I know.  He's all that and a bag of chips too.
