One of the doors opens, and the servant who first greeted you stands there with a negative neutral expression.

The road to Veroignr

To Balir, these undead creatures seem like they were abominations.  They were no longer human, and should be put to rest.  He had no time for them, especially because they stood between him and the promise of riches.  He considered that far more important then these creatures.  They should be killed anyway.  As far as Balir was concerned, the most important considerations all aligned here, and so wordlessly he steps in to attack.

[Private to GM: I had Balir roll control for greed, which he failed.  He's done talking to these abominations.  It's time to find the hoard of gold, and these stupid things are in his way.  Obviously he can handle them, overconfident like he is...
15:08, Today: Secret Roll: Balir Ironhide rolled 15 using 3d6.  Greed control roll 12.

Step and attack, aiming for the head:

Damage - cutting:

If needed, shield block:

"Well, he does not seem a vampyr. I wonder if the farmers were burnt and slaughtered to stop them becoming vampyr, sort of like population control where food is limited?"

As much as Balir wants to check the now dead tower servant for valuables, his job is to guard the rest of the group.  He does, however, find himself edging slowly towards the door, as he can't quite contain the pull of coin.

OOC Is the door open, and can he see the hallway if it is?

There were four doors exiting the central area, there sounded like stairs in two directions.
The door had closed soundlessly behind the servant. Now that it has been lying on the ground, a very small amount of blood is leeching out of the wound.

Balir notices the creature he just slew is bleeding.  While it doesn't mean much to him, he takes it to mean they can be killed.  carefully, he approaches the door where the creature came from.

OOC If he can push the door open with his shield, he will.  Don't know how it latches, nor whether it opens in or out.

In reply to Aethul (msg # 681):

The servant wears an iron chain with a small silvered pendant, perhaps worth $40, and has a plain silver ring worth maybe $50.
He appears to be of greatly advanced age, and it was some sort of miracle that he could stand with that little blood. The bones seem stronger than someone would with this sallow skin.

As you examine the body, the few drops of blood merge, and togethrr they roll to a crack in the floor, where they disappear.

It is unnatural to say the least ... the silver is worth a little.   He'll take the ring and break the pendant off of the iron, putting it in a small pouch as well.
