Ashbury's Abattoir: a tavern near a slaughter house
In reply to Grimaldi (msg # 304):

Meikka was sated by the blood of the poisonous rat thing; you haven't met many human sorts below yet. This floor seems more to be like streets between the different neighborhoods than a place where many creatures ate about.

"T'would be something to run into some blackguards, with their ill-gotten gains in tow..And some more skulls to take."
Grimaldi said with a disturbing matter-of-factness.
"But let us nay linger down here, and get our pay. I'm anxious to get on with something more rewarding, you know?"

You follow the signs back without incident and hear the voices of hobgoblins and orcs bantering. Apparently, one of the hobs was on a rival sporting team to Bartolemu the guard working with Lourdad, and are talking about old times.

Grimaldi comes in grinning slightly, and looks about the tavern, nodding. He finds Martin:
"I think we've done well, advertising the place today, but give it some time.. You'll see!"

In reply to Grimaldi (msg # 312):

"We had five customers in as many hours. The Ropemakers Guild  may be bringing us some of their stock. That pair of goblins... their coinage was rather interesting. I have seen the old imperial coins, and occasionally some of the older goblin currency, but what they had was much older... and had some disturbing glyphs on them. Money is money, but do me a favor and let me see anything you find that looks like this."

He holds out two coins with raised edges, and some irregular markings.

"I should like to find out more about them.. They have odd auras, and look to have been lobotomized. The rope guild told us they don't mess with them anymore, after they showed up with some powerful pay-back..."
Grimaldi comes closer to examine the coins.

"From what I have seen of them, and from what the rope guild had told us, they seem to be the minions of someone much more powerful. The hobgoblins told us that there was an elf with them, who could cause nosebleeds, with a glance... perhaps this "elf", is an elder thing.."

You take turns cranking the elevator chain back up, and the breeze coming through the  open doors of the tavern refresh you as to why this place is called the Abattoir.
