Two levels deep: Broderick's expedition continues

In reply to Broderick Leibert (msg # 73):

The zombie stumbles out into the hallway moaning.

Frer Noe lays hands on Gaspard, who looks a bit better.

Timeon kicks the zombie in the knee, and it faceplants in the hallway.

Within the room is a pile of corpses that Smasher has just stepped over.

Margeaux casts light into the space, and you can see a stairway that descends to a landing and then splits into two staircases.
There is one zombie (injured) on the stair, and below the staircases is s pool, with a fountain spewing water into the pool from the base of the landing.
Below you can see two six foot tall obelisks capped with unlit torcheres
The ceiling is supported by vaulting that ties into pilasters along the walls. There are steps up to a door in the right hand wall.

Something is thrashing in the pool

In reply to Broderick Leibert (msg # 76):

The undead Claire struck falls down the stairs, and through the fountain into the front of the pool.

Broderick finishes the fallen corpse, which looks to be wearing only loose rags.
None of these look to have pouches, and most don't even to have shoes.

What features of the room do you want to investigate?

In reply to Broderick Leibert (msg # 84):

At the landing, stairways continue to floor level to either side. You can  see thar the walled pool extends under all of the stairs and extends in front of them, where the fountainhead gushes forth.

Two of the dead are moving about in the pool, and the water is not clear, so youcannot see Timeon's sword from that height. Some of the bodies you pushed over are floating, others have sunk. The obelisks are topped with iron baskets filled with what looks like kindling.

From what he can see of the room this was an elaborate waste of resources, seeing how its a Crypt the design has been was wasted  Unless there's a hidden or secret door to this chamber there's no point in hanging about here save allowing Timeon to retrieve his sword and after we destroying the zombies that fell into the water and attending to Gaspard's wounds. ooc does he need further healing?

This place in no way resembles a crematorium!  Your limited lightning is not showing all of
the details from your position halfway down the first flight of stairs.
It is not without exits, you need to descend with the lights you have or brighten the area.

Get down below and I can add a picture of what it looks like.

ooc Noted thank you

oops meant Crypt. Broderick is applying what Bro Fre mentioned about the other Room they located to this one, both were secured by chained and contain Undead, that other one was to all purposes a Crypt, Broderick assessed the function of this room to be the same.

Waiting for Comment from the others which will help thread progression.

As no one of the hirelings seems to have a torch, Margeaux casts a brighter form of light.
The room is ringed by pilasters that support the vaulting of the high ceiling.
To one side, up a short flight of steps is a door.
The fountainhead is shaped like a roaring lion.

Thank you Mistress le Manifique your illumination is quite helpful. Standing on the middle landing Broderick assess the room. Looking up towards the group he pointing to the corner to his left Smasher toss the bodies into that corner he directs. Casting an occasional wary glance at the zombies that are moving about in the water. This appears to be quite an ornate room. Clair My dear, would you or perhaps Mistress le Manifique can determine if there is any magical quality to it

Once the landing was clear of the remains Brodrick directed Smasher to descend the stairs one tread at a time to make sure Smasher didn't slip and fall. Accompanying Smasher down the stairs to the lower level then to a spot where they could dispatch the remaining Zombies. Which both set about doing without delay. In reply to Clair Leibert (msg # 93):

The otty peers in through the doors.

Below, three badly damaged zombies are half in and half out of the pool, they can be dispatched  easily. There are bodies on the landings and in the pool.

The fountain at the front of the lower landing is shaped like a roaring lion. The water in the pool is murky.

The obelisks are almost nine feet tall, and have iron baskets filled with dry wood.

The arched door to the side is between the pilasters that hold up the arched roof, and a couple steps up.
There does not seem to have been a purpose for the undead being here, unless they were merely tossed in to keep them from rotting in the hallway.
