Junior House Accounting Thread

Nodwin has currently donated:

Base - Junior House - pooled [1]
Independent Income - pooled [1]

During the next mission he will finish off the total 4 point investment.

He will commit to repairs as time allows with Shape Earth, and at a later time he'll put points into Architecture or Engineering to bolster his ability to fix up the building.

We have a band of Vejovis refugees minding the houses, potentially planting a garden in the enclosed courtyard, and running a Herb Lore alchemy lab wherever Nodwin (and others) set it up.

Junior House Accounting Thread

Jareth has 4 points in (Base, Independent Income, and Ally Charlene).

The house fund has 276$ in it.

My recommendations:
Our next day be a day of "getting more stuff done", Nodwin visit the Hadereum and try to annex the nextdoor apartment block (I believe it's across the street) for Vejovisian refugees.  We keep the primary apartment block for Junior Crewe housing and business.

The 'primary' apartment for Junior business, storage, etc.  This is the one that leads into the sewers.

Other apartments taken by the Crewe as we see fit, at current time that being Nodwin, Jareth, Mario, Jocelyn, Brodak, Melarill, Clarence, and Charlene.  There are 12 apartments, 8 taken as residences, 1 as the 'primary business front', 1 for Nodwin's side business, one for an alchemy lab (not yet invested in).  This leaves one open for further development, perhaps it can become a 'through-faire' for the gardener types to reach the center yard (also for equipment storage, food storage, what-not?).

Jareth's List of Important Stuff
THINGS THAT NEED DOING

Corpses
Corpses to be dealt with:  16.  Cannot be sold as zombie materials, only sellable as "used meat" to Harbash ($20 a piece) and medical cadavers to the Dismal Tower for... eh.. I think it was two or three d4$ each.  Also could just drag them to the Otty pens.

Dead Orc Sewer Worker.  Need to kip him around to the Sewer Worker main hall.  Or where ever it is they meet.  Might be the Hadereum.  I can't remember.

General Stuff
Determine how many Ottys were loosed.  Pen them.  No, wait, first find out if there is a reward for penning them.  If so loose more Ottys.

Sell the location of the Spoders to the Dark Elves and hope they didn't already know and thus decide we're "loose lips that need sealing".

Bribe a Sewer maintenance Scribe to "lose the maps and requisition orders" for our area so we can 'legitimately' squat in the old Cultist cells down below (see sub-sub-basement).

Discreetly determine if the Sewer Workers Union knows there is a bhole loose in the sewers.  Blame Broderick somehow.  Maybe convince Sell Harbash the newly penned Guide On How "to become The Bhole Whisperer"?

Bone Gate Stuff
Fix the collapsed walls leading into the Bone Gate.  Open a basement entrance from Jareth's room to the Bone Gate catchment tunnel.  Rekey the Metal Door lock leading to the Bone Gate1.  Research the history of the Bone Gate.  DO NOT BECOME OBSESSED WITH THE BONE GATE no matter how it whispers in your dreams

Acquire materials for Ymid to repair his skiff.  Learn how Ymid makes the funny "in yer head speechin".  Learn how to open and close Bone Gate.  Sell Rent access to Bone Gate to interested Adventurer Guild concerns.

1 - Or just seal it?

Loot Selling
4 Play Books (possibly worth 4 silver for two of them)
Puissant Thrusting Broadsword ($5500) with Wish Gem ($????) wish to be master of the Bone Gate

I'll second that -- it's been a few days for Mario, a couple years for me.  My memory is good, but it's not that good.

I've got my map, I can link it again as soon as I figure where I put it.  If you don't mind waitin till next week, I can even make it legible.

Re: Junior House Accounting Thread

In reply to Jareth Mooncalled (msg # 7):

Once you do that I will redraw it as a proper map and link it.

Wishing to be able to master the gate would give you a fistful of prerequisite perks and a handful of gate spells at 15, roughly worth 15-25 points, btw. It would also make you really noticeable to elder thigs, possibly netting you an additional unusual background.

Further urban renewal base points would get you the buildings accross from you, and around the corner near the street collapse as well.

Urgent things: replacing the exit gate from the bone gate; the bhole pushed through it. Probable cost: $100 plus labor of about $80.

Does anyone have seek earth?

You can find one Sewer worker if you check the guild. He may help with several points.

Junior House Map

9 123
10 8x4
11 765
12

Suggested layout of the apartments, subject to discussion...
1. Clarence
2. Refugees of Vejovis
3. Nodwin and the refugees of Vejovis
4. Maybe Jareth and the Ymid.  Lab in the sub-basement.  Entrance to the tunnels
5. I was thinking Jocelyn, since she has been known to visit with Jareth
6. Mellaril
7. Mario and the newcomers, Benito and Anita Drake
8. Brodak

X Entrance to the Bone Gate.  Not sure how it fits with everything else.

Nodwin will determine if the following buildings can be taken over as Junior House assets.  As of now they are potentially unstable and vandalized.
9. TBD
10. TBD
11. TBD
12. TBD

The newcomers will include a fence who would like to set up shop, so they would want a streetfront place. Perhaps 5 or 6, or maybe even 7, on the street corner, if it can be sufficiently isolated from 8. His ability to manufacture weapons can cover all the new items that can appear on his shelves...

I welcome all the input.  My suggestion is to bed down like this for the evening, and then when everyone irons out the preferences we can formalize the permanent arrangements.  By then we'll know if the apartments across the street are open for our use.

Jareth and The Ymid are in whichever one is most directly above the Bone Gate.

The sewers and sub-basement are reachable through another apartment which has basement access to the catchment.

Though, most (if not all the apartments) have catchment access through their basments, they've just been bricked up.

They will?  How do we know this?

Are you Clarence?

And Merchant =/= Fence.  A Fence is a dealer in stolen goods, and while that is a type of merchant, I wouldn't just automatically presume all merchants have one foot in the illegal goods market.

Ok, but Merchant + New Guild Membership = Fence. People will not admit to being a fence...just like people will not admit to being a criminal!

Not necessarily.  The Guild may have been formed of mostly criminals, but it recruits from everyone now.  I can't speak for the others, but Jareth is no criminal, which is why he's cautious about higher ranking members of a "criminal" Guild moving in on his turf.

There are reasons I have been subtly (in the beginning) pushing back against involving the Guild in the Junior's business...

Am I Clarence? Same player...

Ah, okay.  I was wondering if you (Clarence's Player) were someone reading things I wasn't, and the answer is "yes, you're reading the new character sheet".

Re: Junior House Accounting Thread

As far as I know the entrance to the underside is primarily through apartment 8.  That's the closest one to the bone gate.  For the rest of the basement access, I'm not entirely sure.  We have the map that you drew up Jareth, but the GM hasn't formalized that yet.  Once we have those details, we can make the important decisions related to who has what apartments.  In fact, we may want to brick up some accesses, or remove the brick from some accesses, just so the arrangement makes sense.  All of that can come later.

In the meantime, let's agree to sleep for the night, do all of our work tomorrow, and then get back to the adventuring.  I think we can all agree on that, right?

Re: Junior House Accounting Thread

I would think we would clear them with the guild first, then a few additional questions, to be decided on by the group...
* How did you know to come here and ask for a place to stay?
* Do you have any references or history that we can verify?
* What skills would you bring to the group?
* How do we know that you can be trusted?
* Where do you envision yourself in 5 years?
* What's your spirit animal?
