i think that allows you to act as a foreman, so anyone working under you gets +5 to their carpentry or masonry. if that's the case, then a basic crew could probably be assembled from the whole of our group, including some of the refugees.

Ok, so i as a player probably have less of an idea of what needs to be done than Benito, who has been walking around and seeing some of the damage from above, at least.

So how to handle construction? You tell me what to roll and I roll it, and he gets to work? Construction is probably one of the more mundane things to role-play in detail, though the general aspects can be more interesting.

I addressed the discussion with Nodwin in thread, although the timing is likely off.  That's for the GM to decide.

As for the work, I imagine Nodwin will make Shape Earth rolls and then Benito will perform the guidance on how to apply it.  Others can help with tasks, but I imagine they will be the primary participants.  Jareth also has some skills that should come in handy here.  Like Benito said, the GM will have to decide how much of this he wants to role-play.  I'm happy to do it on or off screen, whichever he decides is appropriate.

Hmmmm... Engineer (Civil) defaults to Architecture at -6, no regular IQ defaults.  So if your Architecture is already a default, you have no Engineer (Civil).

Bringing this back up:  Base and what is it doing?

If we're paying $150 a week CoL, what is Base bringing to the table that makes it worth points (I understand it's been a reward so far, but I'm considering throwing another point or two into it).

Base is a private domain, col is improving the area, it was hovel like, now with the Vejovians and Benito getting paid, it is closer to Status 0 housing edging on a status 1 neighborhood, and you can't get evicted, and can safeley keep your gear, it also attracts offers of work without having to bribe the criers guild to make propoganda rolls.
I have to think on how to expand it mechanically; in addition to the alchemy lab and sleeping areas and Benito's workshop, it should develop amenities, like a tavern opening... a tavern costs 100k, so a further point would get yall your own table, always reserved, but it would represent where your col was spent.

At least 1 point you have spent should cover a room big enough for you all to sit and plot together, perhaps in the corner building opposite from the workshop.

Okay, so basically those 2 points should be (trying to lay it out mechanically):

Lodging (which still requires CoL expenses).
Allowing us control of the Bone gate.
Allowing us free access to the Sewers and below.
Access to the Maintenance Lodging 'squatting area'*.

I'll admit that's a lot for 2 points (Jareth has 2 points in Base so that's my Baseline).  I'd recommend it be split as so:

Junior House [2]
- Base [0] (Still requires CoL)
- Bone Gate [1]
- Sewer Access [1]
- Squatting in the Maintenance Lodging [0] (Mostly coincidental, also we haven't actually set up down there yet)

So to get full value we'd need to invest 2 more points, 1 to 'guarantee" we don't lose the Maintenance Lodging, and 1 to get rid of the 'lodging' CoL (the breakdown is roughly $100 for lodging, $50 for food in town).

Likewise individuals should be able to make Scrounging, Urban Survival, using a Craft skill, having an Ally Group (Vejovian Refugees), and various other type skills to defray* their personal CoL...

And that we general stop worrying about the 'repair and maintenance' on camera.

* I recommend it defray, not overcome the CoL.

Mell and Brodak can buy up now, but Jocelyn is out of CPs.

Clarence in t for 2, but out of cp as well. Anita and Benito are yet to spend points...I am guessing Benito should be the one to sink points into a workshop? Or Anita into a Base, since Benito is technically her 'Ally'?

If benito is available, he should be costing 20 points for 100% value ally.I think 8 pts were soebnt, so we will have to roll for his availability when fencing goods, or asking for other favors.

Col is $21 per day, $6 of which is minimal food. This pays the Vejovians to sweep and whitewash the place, get the dents out of your armor and your clothes washed and mended.

OOC: At present, I have 3 points into Base, plus one on Charlene as an ally (seemed like a couple other group members had spent a point each toward that as well. intending to make her an ally of the group).

Did we ever decide what the actual money cut was per partner, or were we still deciding whether and how to allocate a Group Emergency Fund?

Nodwin has 4 points in Junior House on his character sheet.  He should be good.  Think he made that investment when I first took him over.

At last count You, Nodwin, Jareth, and Jocelyn chimed in "yes", Clarence, Brodak, and Mellarill haven't responded either way (though I strongly suspect Mell and Brodak will say 'yes' as well).

So Mario and Jareth have points in Charlene as an Ally, did anyone else go in on that? With both Mario and Jareth in at 1 point each Charlene is a '9 or less' Frequency Ally.  The next bump up is at 4 points total (12 or less), then 6 points total (15 or less), then 8 for 'Always Around' (no Frequency Roll)

Jocelyn seemed to say Mell and Brodak were on board when this came up.  Clarence?  Willing to have a fund to pay for major problems, sorta like insurance (only it can't pay out more than we've paid in)?  And/or commit a point to having Charlene around on a more regular basis?

Looks like we're unanimous on the Mutual Casualty Fund at one full share.

I count three points into Charlene as group Ally so far.  If no one else has a point to spare or wants in on that, I've got one more I could spend there; that would give us the 9 or less roll for her to appear.
