If the rice was thrown in front of the footsteps, they pause in front of them, with dripping water starting to pool, until it washes away the rice, at which point they continue to the oppoiste wall from their entry point, and disappear as a large damp spot forms on the shoji wall, as if having passed through.

Ales grabs a stick and gently pokes the yokai. "Are you still alive?", he asks the yokai.

Chye bows to the spirit.
"Am Chye Isuel. Your story is known to Chye and friends, who have come from afar.
We're going to try and find what became of Fuun'na Nakama... We believe that he fell victim to the great beast. At least that is what the shaman thinks... We will find the truth, and it is our mission that you find your peace. Chye asks, in the meanwhile... If you will relent, and not harm the villagers? There is much sorrow here..."

Iskander withdraws from his position, having observed the whole encounter. This whole thing was definitely Sahudese. He could only hope they could all make good on Chye's promise...
(the spirit must have had a very good reaction to Chye, if the +4 he gets from Sahudese, was factored in.)

Chye will remain bowed, until the spirit goes her way, then he will arise.
he will seek out the shaman, to tell him of the encounter, and also to ask where the woman's grave in the village might be, so he can see that there are fresh flowers placed there, and proper offerings made.
