After advancing a bit, things seem unnaturally  still. The ground has a reddish cast, and the plants seem sickly but overgrown. There is a clearing ahead... mages make an int+magery roll. You feel uncomfortably empty.

Starmetal is safe to touch, unless you are dependent upon magic for your existence.  The dolmen in front of you seems to be ordinary bluestone flint., although the vines creeping up it look unwell, like most of the vegetation here.

Curious, Chye is wondering just what is making them so strange...a gardener he was not, but he was curious. He cuts through one of the vines, looking at a cross-section...

The plant seems peculiar, with an internal structure that more resembles a cross section of an eel than a plant. It oozes limply in your hand.


This is not the kind of warping that necromantic energy causes.

"Well, I've marked this spot, so we should have no problem finding this, on our way back to the city. I don't know about all of you, but I think I'm satisfied in my curiosity. I think I'll head back now." Iskander begins to start back, to catch up with the wagons.

Chye looks up at the sky to see how the storm is progressing.

"Welcome back.  No trouble, it seems.  Did you find what you sought?"

"Indeed! The plants are very strange though...The starfall's presence is having an effect upon the area's flora. I wouldn't be surprised if some sort of man eating plants sprung forth, on our return."

"Not look like plants.. But like...Eel!"
Chye interjects.

"Sounds most unnatural, indeed..."

"As you say, perhaps something that came with the starfall.  Such a thing might be a challenge to control near to the star metal, where magic fails."

"Hmm.. perhaps Chye should have cut all the vines, and kill that which looked like it was a growing monster? Maybe we come back and have to deal with it, when it's a danger. But then, it may act as a guardian to keep others away from our prize, until we return to claim it...If it be dangerous."
