Re: Rice Run
"Once more, Ming-Sa, you demonstrate your goodness and spirit. With two of us, I can raise another section of wall like that one with just over a half hour of rest, and you can recover as I do.
"Are you fully rested now? If so, i would ask that you lend me the equivalent of a half draught of paut now, to replace part of what I have spent in the battle, then in a sixth part of an hour we may begin raising wall segments.
"I will raise a wall such as this one, either joining the sections or leaving a small gap, and you will lend me half the energy I have spent -- a total of one and three-fourths draught of paut for each section -- and we will both recover in less than two thirds of an hour."
OOC: If Ming-Sa is unfamiliar with paut, Chou-Zhen will instead measure by the energy Ming-Sa has recently spent on each of her daylight-bright lights. We will then begin by raising a wall to one side of the first, with a gap of less than a yard -- large enough for a man to pass, even when carrying a pole with loads on the ends or a heavy pack, but narrow enough to restrict a horse and rider.
For practical reasons, Chou-Zhen will instruct Ming-Sa to lend between the Shape Earth and Earth to Stone castings, to avoid the danger of falling unconscious from exhaustion. Together, we can raise a section of wall every thirty-five minutes. Even with extra casting time (to increase effective skill) we can do three sections in two hours, and with the extra time (effective skill 16) and Akitsu-san's blessing (which adjusts the roll, not the skill), only a roll of 18 will fail.
See message 644 for the dimensions and casting cost.
