Chou-Zhen looks upward, into the rain, for a moment, letting the drops lash against his face, mouth open to catch a few, then returns his attention to the road and the cart he's pacing.

"Rain is good.  It washes the world."

Rice Run

19:08, Today: Tanaka Kojimaru rolled 14 using 3d6.  poetry 14.
Tanaka is silent for awhile, as he plods along in the rain, then he spontaneously recites a poem: "The sky's water has fallen, and autumn clouds are thin,
The western wind has blown ten thousand li. *li is a chinese unit of distance = 0.3 miles*
This morning's scene is good and fine,
Long rain has not harmed the land.
The row of willows begins to show green,
The pear tree on the hill has little white flowers.
A hujia pipe begins to play upstairs,
One goose flies high into the sky..."

In reply to Chye Isuel (msg # 140):

Ordinary use of survival skill tries to find a campsite that is defensible, comfortable, and has a nearby source of water.
Soldier skill finds only a defensible campsite, which this one is, a wide path leading to a clearing in the woods with boulders scattered around the sides, and space for the oxen and wagons. There is a previously used fire pit here.

"Well done, Chye.  The lack of a water source is of little concern. I can create water for drinking, cooking, and to water the animals, though it may take me an hour or more to do so if I need to rest before I finish.  I would happily teach that spell, if you are able to purify water; it would hurry the process."
