I am glad you clarified the typo, I thought you were casting Sense Hoes.

Providing a clear looking path to enter would allow flanking attacks from either side, if the walls could be shifted into l shapes.

Re: Rice Run

"It is possible to move these walls, using the same magic that created them, but to do so would be very tiring, and I would be limited in my ability to fight after doing so."

Chou-Zhen looks at the walls he and Ming-Sa have built so far.

"I believe I could collapse the wall blocking the road without exhausting myself too badly, but it would then require even more effort to rebuild it, if it were needed.  And without combatants to shelter out of sight, we would merely open a gate, rather than channel them into a killing ground."

Re: Rice Run

"At least the equivalent of a dose of paut, simply to begin the movement, and most likely half that again to continue the spell long enough to reposition a wall section and keep it upright.

"This is something I could readily manage with my own energy, but it would leave me in a limited condition afterward until I can take the time to rest -- at least half of an hour.  I have a Power Item, of course, but I cannot restore its contents until we return to Northport, so I am saving it for the direst of emergencies.

"But please explain to me how this wall, with the gaps I have already built into it, does not already channel the enemy sufficiently?  They are forced off the road, into the rice paddy, where both men and horses are at a disadvantage, then they must dismount to pass the gaps in the wall.  Once the village is fully walled in, it may make sense to replace the wall blocking the road with a fortified gate, but it is too soon for that."

Re: Rice Run

Chou-Zhen takes his position along with Ales, Ming-Sa, and the other villagers with their improvised weapons.  His left hand wanders along his belt, touching each empty potion pocket and the two vials, then he speaks a single cryptic word and gestures, and a small crackling ball of energy forms in his left hand.  With his right, he frees the toggle that holds his leather whip, and shakes it free.

"Let them come."

One of the two breaks from the swarm, and meets his fate at the hands of your bear tulpa.  The other heads toward the sound of a stream, hoping to lose the wasps by submerging  himself.

Meanwhile, as Iskander and Chye escort the prisoners, two arrows fly toward them, striking nearby trees and the dround at their feet.

There is movement among the trees not far from the pillbox that Chou-Zen has made.

[Private to Narrator: 10 unaccounted for, 2 of them attacking i and c, 3 approachong the fortifications,  and 5 have fled completely.]
