"Miko, do you mean older the way yosei, and perhaps bakemono are older races than humans, or Elder, like my father, from an older world than this one?"

"Do you mean they are inclined towards evil?"
Chye turns his polearm upright, in his grip.

The swordsman watched the group with a casual calm.
"Hmm..."

Upon hearing Tanaka's question, Ales abandoned his earlier idea. He hops of the oxen wagon and moves towards the group.  As he does, he casts a spell.

Ales notes a little hostility on the part of the farmers...
"The yosei are from an earlier time. I thank that Neko is yosei, not catfolk as we are today. I heard tales pur ancestors were yosei that became less magical.

The creatures before you are strange.
There is a bakemono playing a woodwind instrument, and one angry looking farmer has just returned with a small stringed instrument and a bow.
There is a tall, pale yosei, the small strange catfolk, and and some farmers are dancing.
There is also a short, stocky chikyū kobito, bearded with mosses in his hair and beard.

The tall yosei resembles an elf.

Iskander detects magic.

"Chye-san. You might be the best one to talk with them.. They seem to be musicians, and you have a way with people."
Tanaka says casually, over the taller man's shoulder.

Chou-Zhen follows along with Chye, Tanaka, and Iskander, leaving his leather whip coiled on his belt.

"It's an odd time of day to throw a party."

Meanwhile Ales goes and talks to the farmers.  "You seem troubled."

A bat faced goblin in motley plays an infectious tune on his instrument.

"Who are these fine felines?" inquires a striped catfolk wearing a vest and boots. He is carrying a fishing rod.
Like most cats, he seems to ignore the plight of humans.

In reply to Farm worker (msg # 47):

"Let him hear this then,"
The peasant tucks his fiddle under his chin and begins to saw away at it furiously.

The bakemono changes his tune to match.

"Why do you wish not to dance? I am not trying to insult you, only seeking to understand your side of the matter."

Chou-Zhen approaches the flute player and catfolk, listening to the music and watching the dance.

He addresses the cat man in Aralaise, "The catfolk traveling with us are servants of the House of Sakemoko, as are the rest of us.  I do not understand why these farm folk dance when they should be working.  Especially, because they don't seem to enjoy the dance."

"This must be the magic I sensed... these are faerie folk. It is said to be careful in how one must deal with their mischief making...Often humoring them, and being a good sport, yields the best result,and sometimes..even a reward!"
Iskander whispered to he others

"So if they fed them dinner, or gave them drink, they'd go on their way, and the next morning, they'd find all their planting done, eh?"

"I'm no expert on the lore... but that is what folk say. There must be some truth to it."

"Well, staying and drinking with them, is out of the question. It'd amount to abandoning our wagon train!"

"Bwahahahaa!"
