Berry will get 14 days (210$) of Elf Bread rations.

OOC: saving the 4cp for now and 140$. Responsibility! And thanks for the assist on finding it. :)

Give Haveron and his 2 hirelings 2 weeks of food and then let's go.  Are you taking the references from DF in general or should I use another source for the purchase?  Regular food is good for him and his group.

If food is the only concern, you head toward the gates, and there is a disruption as people are heading in for market day. You can hear shouting, and it is a very tight press.

Re: Near Al Menir

I am thinking two weeks of food for a Lizard Man might need a small wagon to haul and draw a lot of flies ...  Then again Lizards often can get by with eating less too ...  we'll assume he has enough Freeze Dried Elf Rations for two weeks.

I think we're ready to go boss.  I owe you accounting on food rations, but nothing else of importance needs to be done that I know of.

Re: Near Al Menir

At the sign of trouble Shroud's head turns to note the source of the disturbance but he doesn't seem bothered by the troubles of these city dwellers.  Its likely just another domestic dispute.  City people fighting over city resources or some such non sense.  But, when his group moves to investigate he follows along, bow in hand.

OOC:
Bow is out and ready but do not pull an arrow at this time.

Burke moves along through the city happy to be getting into the wild when a cry erupts somewhere in the crowd.  Curious to see what's behind it he follows along.

OOC:
No weapons out.  Shield is on my back.

In reply to Berry (msg # 314):

Ahead you can see a little bitbof a circle forming. A brutish man with a half eaten apple in one hand has the other arm wrapped around a young woman, and is holding a knife. He takes another bite from the apple, and spits the seeds toward an older woman beside an apple cart.

Re: Near Al Menir

Sometimes Berry's Id and Superego are in harmony. Such as when her Id advises laziness and her Superego advises caution. In this instance they are in conflict. Her Id is saying Intervene! Save the lady from the asshole thug! while her Superego is saying This is dangerous and you should slink away.

Unfortunately, Berry's Id wins out as it tends to do in stressful situations.

Berry steps forward with one hand at her side and one raised close to her heart. The raised hand is ready to fire if it becomes a fight, but she doesn't want that. "Hey, man how about you let the lady go and then everyone goes their separate ways and we don't have any violence today? Then everyone can laugh at how silly they were a few weeks down the road."

Her Superego is now saying You will be the laughing stock of the entire afterlife if you die here!

OOC: Diplomacy roll attempt!
15:27, Today: Berry rolled 13 using 3d6.  Berry used Diplomacy-12.

Bechazruhk instantly sees the bully in action but the wild hippy has come to realize that some things are not always as they seem.   Burke steps forward but stays well out of it.

OOC:
Hands are empty.  Let Berry do her thing and hope this can be resolved with words.

Re: Near Al Menir

Shroud's demeanor changes slightly.  It has been clear that he has no love for city folk but this could get ugly in a hurry and his friends know that the man who calls himself Shroud is very protective of his friends.  As a precaution the man loads his bow but keeps it as not threatening as possible.

OOC:
Load an arrow but keep it pointed down near my feet for now.  Move slowly forward so that if needed I can get a short ranged and clear shot at the apple eating bully.

The adept is surprised to see Berry do something other than breathe and eat, but he agrees with her stance, he stand behind her and slightly off to her left with his great sword in front of him pointed straight up with the hilt at chest height on him.   He nods at her words  Ssshe Sssspeaksss wissssdom.

Haveron notes that Berry, infamously adverse to doing much of anything she doesn't have to, suddenly has taken an interest in what is going on in the market.  While he considers this interaction none of their business, he does support Berry's right to get involved if she feels it appropriate.  He steps behind her, with his hand on his sword, but waits to see how things develop.

Omar is traveling with the group when he hears the commotion.  He doesn't pay it much attention at first, until he sees a woman being held at knife point by a man.  Instinctively he steps forward, into the circle, with his hand on his sword.

"Your Sharaf suffers with this dishonorable act.  Who gives you the right to threaten the life of this woman??"
