As Haveron looks about, he'll eventually notice that much of the caravan did not observe the path.  "Amelia, would you mind going back to the caravan?  I'd like you to ask Hamid to join us here.  Perhaps he can help us unravel this, I expect he makes this trip regularly, so he ought to have some idea what is going on."

Haveron pauses for a moment, then addresses Amelia first.  "Thank you."

He then continues talking with Hamid.  "This area has been enchanted in some way.  We were not supposed to notice it.  There is an active aversion to noticing this path.  Several of us detected the condition.  Gareth over-reacted, but he was disturbed by the path, as I was.

Tell me, what is going on here?  You have not expressed surprise at this being here, so it seems like you may have been aware of it's presence.  Many others cannot seem to look at it.  Please, tell us what you know about this path in good faith. "

"We have been taking this route for years with nothing untoward happening except for the mountain folk trying to rob us, and that one year when there was an overabundance of snakes. Al Menir is nearly in sight, we have perhaps two days left. You will be cashiered out, and made free to pursue such unsavory locations."

Haveron takes an active hand in setting up camp, and then takes a moment to stop by and speak to Gareth.

"You may have been right, I may have been wrong.  Based on how things played out, I followed my interpretation in the moment.  If I was in error, please accept my apology.  However, I still ask that you try to curb your stronger reactions.  Regardless of who was right, igniting a bush was still reckless."

Haveron will wait for a response, and then continue about his business. Watches need to be set up, and unless anyone has a complaint, he will organize them to match the previous night.

Haveron takes up position towards the front of the caravan, so he can see ahead of them as they progress.

Amelia seemed a bit rough when she got up.  Haveron thought she might have had a long night playing cards.  Thus, he sent her to find a ride somewhere among the horses and wagons for the morning.

As you continue, Gorgath notices that a distant shepherdess with her flock is an ogress herding dire sheep...

The Adept notes the awesome size of the shepherdess guarding them... and as much as a good meal of lamb would be, controls himself.  Mayhap Gorgath can buy ussssiss an animal for dinner?

Haveron approaches the master of the caravan.  "Mutton would be quite wonderful for dinner.  Do you have any regular contact with the shepherdess there?  If not, I'm willing to be that Amelia could probably negotiate a sheep or two for us to eat for dinner.  What say you?"

OOC Don't remember if we should be talking to Hamid (weapon master) or someone else.  The hierarchy of the caravan has escaped me for some reason.

Amelia purses her lips a bit at the suggestion of her boss, but nonetheless seems to take the suggestion in stride.  "I can see if she can be persuaded for approrpiate coin.  We would like one for our group.  How about for the caravan in general.  I don't know offhand if there are any dietary restrictions among your population."

OOC In the real world, people with similar names frequently have some dietary restrictions.  Seemed appropriate to ask in game, although the characters would potentially know.

"Hail Ogress.  The caravan I am part of would like to purchase 2 of your sheep for our evening meal.  Would you have any that you can share with us?"
