Re: Near Al Menir

In reply to Bechazruhk Burke (msg # 473):

The wolf's hackles raise. He quickly finds a set of tracks, and a couple sprays of blood. There are small canid tracks that look like they started to run before being crossed by a very large set of feline tracks, that eventually circle off, although the smaller tracks don't.

Tracking roll to identify.

Dice roll in PM

[Private to GM: Burke doesnt have Tracking.  Go figure but thats what you get with templates.  I'm not sure how you want to play it, since I assume Feylan could ID the tracks but not communicate what he finds.  So I assume as a thing this is what I do on a regular basis.  He tracks and I cast Beast Speech to find out what he sniffs.  Rolls are below.

10:44, Today: Feylan rolled 9 using 3d6.  Tracking.
10:44, Today: Bechazruhk Burke rolled 13 using 3d6.  Beast Speech.

The spell is normally 4/2, reduced to 3/1 for high skill.  1 minute duration.  1 question + answer per minute.  Maintain the spell 1 time max if needed for a max of 2 minutes duration.

In reply to Bechazruhk Burke (msg # 475):

The wolf growls and postures. Through Burke it communicates that the smaller animal was a fox, and that it was attacked and torn to shreds by a type of tiger that is not a tiger, and that its scent is all over this place.

Shroud may have tracking.

Re: Near Al Menir

Interested in the exchange between man and beast, and the phrase 'a tiger that is not a tiger' the often silent stoic man kneels besides the soft ground to see what he can see,

OOC:
Shroud does have Tracking.  Roll is in PM below.

[Private to GM:

Shroud does have Tracking.  Made it by 4.

14:07, Today: Shroud rolled 12 using 3d6.  Tracking.

When Feylan says a type of tiger that is not a tiger, does he mean a big cat but not a tiger, such as a panther or lion?  Or something like a big cat but its unusual.  Such as unnatural?

Re: Near Al Menir

Haveron pauses in the middle of his work to pay attention to the exchange.  There were plenty of things to organize before they really got moving up the road.  However, knowing that something out of the ordinary was out there, coupled with their quest for some sort of magical tower... They might be related.

OOC  Seems reasonable to assume Haveron would be tracking this if not following it directly...until ther was something out of the ordinary like this.

In reply to Shroud (msg # 478):

From the depth of the front paws compared to the rear, this creature is much heavier in the front, which means that it is probably one of those beasts with more than one head, a diger, triger or worse.

Re: Near Al Menir

Shroud is normally a quiet man.  He rarely speaks unless he has something to say and those who have spent some time around him have come to realize that he does not joke.  The archer has no use for time spent on escapism and the purpose of it is beyond him.

Rather stoically he looks around and explains his opinion of the tracks, that they belong to an unnatural multi headed predatory cat.  ”I think its obvious, but we had a visitor from the wizards tower last night.  Whether it was a random encounter or a forward scout only time will tell.”

Re: Near Al Menir

The big wolf growls and its jaws open and close as if its trying to talk, if it had the means to vocalize which it does not.  But being an animal it merely makes animal noises.

Re: Near Al Menir

Burke turns his attention to the large timber wolf and pays attention as if the wild dog is speaking and he can understand it.  Then he addresses the group.  ” 'Ol Feylan thinks its a guard dog, like he is.  An' he's remindin' me to tell ya that my fog keeps out all kinds 'a nasties.  Lions, tigers, bears.  Just about everythin' born to nature.  Well mostly.  Sometimes if they starvin' or mad they'll come in.  But anyways, the fog dont always work on the unnatural.”

OOC:
I'm ready to move on.

[Private to GM:
Playing up Burke's mistaken belief that he can understand animal speech.  Which at this time he cannot.  But he thinks he can.

Haveron nods and motions them onward.  "Burke, I'd like you to be up front with me, along with Feylan.  He has the scent of this beast, I expect he will know if it's around.  And, if we get close to something else, then Feylan should be able to warn us."
