Re: Near Al Menir
Haveron has been standing there, watching things develop as others examined the items in front of them. They have found any number of very interesting items, and many of them were more advanced or beyond what he had experience with. The situation hinted at more advanced magic and engineering than anything he had seen before. It called for stepping out of his comfort zone, in the interest of everyone involved.
Haveron steps over to the Adept, and puts his hand gently on the lizard man's shoulder, in a friendly and perhaps brotherly sort of way. "Adept, I respect your beliefs, and I have no wish to make you uncomfortable. However, in this moment, I believe we need to know more about what happened with this person. Please accept my forgiveness for asking this."
Haveron then turns his head so he can look at Gareth. "Gareth, you said you could see how the man died. I admittedly am not very comfortable with your death magic. It has a bad reputation in my experience, and I am still not confident your judgement matches with mine.
However, in this case I think we need to better understand what we are dealing with. This man has advanced tools, and drawings of what seems like highly advanced magic or engineering. I cannot claim to understand much of it, really, and that gives me pause.
I would ask that you leave the dead man dead. However, if you can see how he died, or gather information about his history, I think we need to know that. It may tell us nothing, but it could also provide us with valuable information we may need to survive and finish this quest."
After saying that, Haveron pulls ever so gently on the adepts shoulder, seeking to guide him away from the scene.
OOC Trying to show some character growth here, and acknowledge the mostly neutral opinions of the rest of the party, save the Adept (who has appropriate and strong objections, I am sure). Haveron has good reason for the decision.
