"Happy to. What word would you like me to say to Hephaestus? Or if you were meaning for us to kill him, how is that 'word' best said?"

Haveron steps foward just a bit, and gently says "Gareth, I think we should defer to the Adept on what that might mean.  It may not be his area of expertise, but he will know more than we do."

Re: Near Al Menir

Haveron takes a thoughtful approach.  Then, after a moment of consideration, suggests "Once his spirit is resting again, I think we should do that work after we ourselves leave the circle.  Who knows how long he has been here.  Another few hours or another day should mean nothing to him.  Only that we complete the work.

Adept, I know this isn't in your usual area, but can you take charge of this piece?  I am not versed in the spiritual, and would trust your judgement more than I would mine on the subject.

If we are all in agreement, I say we leave in the morning?  I expect it will take some effort if he was unable to escape.  We should be well rested, and fresh, and ready for the challenge.  We already know this grove has been enchanted, and I do not expect we will be bothered during the night."

After everything has concluded, Haveron will touch Gareth on the shoulder in what is meant as a friendly gesture, and murmur "Thank you" in a quiet way.

OOC As long as we are about done here, ready to fast forward to the morning.  Same watch schedule as the previous day.  We have enough rations, and I'm sure Gareth has plenty he would like to research.  The Adept probably has some work to do as well.

Re: Near Al Menir

In reply to Haveron Stormwal (msg # 781):

Gareth is a little surprised, after all the talk about respecting the dead.

"How far do we have to take him? Surely not that far. I gave him my word...last thing I need is a grumpy ghost because we had to leave by another direction. The dead are people too, and and I do actually respect their wishes, if they are not assholes. We can do it now, so lets get it done!"

[OOC: Narrator, how far do we need to move him to get him out of the circle?]

Re: Near Al Menir

That was not the response that Haveron was looking for.  He purses his lips ever so slightly, but patiently responds to the mage, in a firmer tone.  "I would agree with you, if it were that easy.  Unfortunately, it is not.  You saw how difficult it was for some of us to even enter the circle.  We had people wandering off because of the magic here.  He died because he could not leave, and he seemed like quite a capable engineer from your brief conversation.  I don't think it prudent to have people try to leave and then try to return again.  He asked for burial outside the circle, and we will do so.  However, it will be when we leave, so we don't have to attempt 3 more trips past whatever magical barrier is in place."

Gareth is not noticing the issue...again.

The outer tree line is the area he wants to be buried outside of, or further?

Re: Near Al Menir

The outer tree line marks the edge of the barrier outside, (outside which he wants to be buried) toward the cliffs there stands a black tower, a little hard to see, maybe forty feet tall.

Anyone in this group good with distance weapons or traps/locks?

I did consider taking a spell that would help with locks, but was advised it was not necessary. Spells Apportion and Locksmith would resolve that...

Just to be clear, how far away is the wall of trees? [Private to GM: Rolled 5 under will to check this.]

Just checking, as we lost two players and an ally that filled a niche; this jaunt was conceived for a different line up.

The clearing around the tower is about 50-60 yards in diameter.

Gorgoth quit along with Sorsha/Mischa.  The revised Shroud is now a ranger, played by our Druid friend. That settles our distance/ lockpicking issue.

OOC  The Druid is still around, just happens to have other priorities at the moment.  Say the word, and I'll kick him in the pants.  I know how to get at him.
