Re: Balar's Hoard

Aegis pointedly takes another swig and belches loudly in Dne's direction.

OOC Newer to the character.  Not sure where he got the alcohol, but he's certainly be drinking something.  Even if it meant filling his skin from one of the barrels.  :)

Re: Balar's Hoard

In reply to Aegis (msg # 98):

Your prisoner Balar ( who has a crippling leg injury among his wounds, directed you to the location of a bottle of Armangac, which apparently was filled from one of the barrels. (You note one barrel has been tapped, and has a cork where it was opened)

To get all the loot back, some of it must be carried.

Balar's armor is fairly valuables as well, to say nothing of the collection of cheap swords and crossbows you have accumulated.  If you do not wish to take the crossbows, they can be ruined easily by cutting the strings.

To properly open the chest, the key would be good to have, or at least knowledge of which locks to open and in what order; turning all of the tumblers clockwise in the order she attempted seems not to have been the way

"If you can rig a frame for the mule, I can ensure it will be able to carry everything," Darius said. He closed to the mule, which brayed and became more and more agitated. "Oh, and I need someone to hold it, too."

Re: Balar's Hoard

Aegis will hold out an arm to grab the reins of the mule.  So as not to scare it, he'll belch in the other direction.  That's as polite as he gets.

Aegis furrows his brow and stares at Darius.  "Stup skeerin' the ponee.  I'm gunna speel me drik."  What follows is a line of curses that would make most sailors proud.

And a belch.

Re: Balar's Hoard

Darius looked up from drawing a circle on the ground. "It's not like I can stop it," he said. "There's quite a bit of necromantic energy still clinging to me, and... ah, nevermind. Point is, animals don't like me, I can't change it, and you can either keep the mule restrained or we can't carry everything." He grinned suddenly. "Or I can enhance your strength, and you carry it."

He stepped into the circle, and soon energy was gathering around him and the skittish mule.

The mule shudders and ripples with massive muscles, turning a shade of green as it does so.

Re: Balar's Hoard

Knowing how animals react to him (not that he blames them for being intimidated), Dne touches ground and keeps a discreet distance from the green mule.  But he observes the antics with relish.

Darius broke the circle and quickly stepped away from the mule. With greater distance, it became calmer. "That's an interesting side effect," he said and jotted down a note in a small notebook.

Re: Balar's Hoard

Absently Aegis offers his flask to Masugatan to see if he wants some.  Companionship was always better when drinking.

With his other hand, he'll get out his knife and flip it end over end to see if he can get it to stab a twig on the ground.  It was a good game for passing the time while the rest of the group talked themselves to death.

OOC Love the reference.  lol!

Re: Balar's Hoard

Aegis snickers rather audibly.  Then he'll walk over behind Balar and casually toss his knife in the air behind the prisoner.

In his other hand, he's still holding a drink, from which he periodically takes a swig from.
