In reply to Marcus Blackthorn (msg # 462):

Heading east of the sun, west of the moon, until you come upon an oldcwoman selling apples. You greet her, buying an apple each, (1 copper total) and you follow her shadow to a small door where you can hear music. The hanging tabard shows a flower and two cloven hoofprints.

What is the name on the door? Cloven as in Faun, not cloven as in demon, right? I assume there is a difference...

There is no written name, but the woodwork is elaborately carved, and the metal, where seen is all bronze; there is no iron to be seen.
You can hear several instruments playing; panpipes, a hautbois, a lute, and a harp. there is the sound of dancing and clapping as well.

Within, there are a variety of odd yet oddly familiar folk. Some have pointed ears, a few are small and winged, some have goat legs. One of the musicians is a faun, one a bat faced goblin, one an elf of some kind, and one is an incredibly good looking man who is hard to look at, yet fascinating at the same time.

"Sure. Why though, just iron? Silver not a problem?" She takes the crossbow bolts and hangs the quiver on a hook after getting her answer.

When she gets back she will ask for a juice...

Leroy sheds his suit of scale, and his axe, and his baselard.
He does retain his targe, which is wooden, covered with hide, set with brazen tacks and a brazen boss. His warclub, which is carved from a tree root, hangs from his belt.

The collection of fey creatures seem pleased with this, and silver is fine here.
You note a variety of staves and spears from pixie size up, set with flint or bronze, and a few items made of crystal, silver, or mage metal. A hooded man with a raven's face is at a table, drinking with a sea elf, and the door is being watched by a large creature with the face of an owl and a thick pelt like that of a bear.
It definitely does not seem to be a summer court creature.

Rosewood is silent for a time.
He is very very reluctant to say what the creature was.  Or what he think it was.

Just before the group get to the tavern.  He says in a low voice.

I think it was a Swamp Hag.  I not seem one close up before but.
From the books I studied.  That want it seemed to be.

Rosewood is not very comfortable with going into the tavern and tries to say behind Leroy du Lac and out of site.  He clearly tries to keep away from anything that looks like another pixie.

Rosewood  notices that the crowd is a mix of both the Summer and the Winter court. Apparently the place exists in a state of truce. Both the corvite and the owlish bouncer, along with a redcap over in the corner, and the elf sitting by the moss dwarf are all mrmbers of the Winter court .
