In reply to Leroy du Lac (msg # 587):

The frogs croak out a song

"Mother comes wading, wading
Mother comes wading, wading through the bog
She will take the last one
The last one, the last one sitting on the log.
Who will wait and sit for her,
who will wait and sit for her
Only the bravest frog"

You hear faint singing, and  the sound of someone poling a skiff of some kind through the water of the bog.

A small leather corracle is paddling toward you. An old woman with a broad brimmed hat kneels in it as she paddles with a carved oar. Softly she sings in a low raspy voice.

"The frog on the log is the bravest in the bog. My stewpot waits to give him rest."

As the woman paddles closer, more of the frobs leap off, the last two each trying to puff themselves larger.
The corackle closes in, and the second to last frog leaps into the bog. Lightning fast, she snatches up the last frog, and tucks him into a reed basket, all the while making eye contact with you.

"What brings the children of man into my fen?" She sniffs.
"I smell niade, and elf, and...there was a pixie with you recently.
Why do you disturb me?"

"We came from the city, after we heard about your wisdom, from the fey that live there.
There is a sort of fey, we believe that is corrupting the men there, and making them persecute the fey, and in response, we are helping the fey, and trying to bring an end to this...But we know not what we are facing, nor how we might best go about stopping it. whatever, or whoever it is, it seeks to only wreak havoc and destruction to both the men and fey in the city.
...We brought you this quail pie, and some wild honeycomb we found. Please, accept it for our disturbing your abode, Ma'am."

Leroy nods to his group, who are carrying the gifts...

20:27, Today: Leroy du Lac rolled 12 using 3d6.  carousing ~ 14.
"Do you enjoy a strong drink, now and then? I know I do.. We'd be honored if you'd share a drink, talk, and perhaps do you a favor, in return for any insight you might have into our problem."
Leroy smiled disarmingly, and replied.

Leroy wasn't as good with social graces as he was with socializing, he figured it was worth a shot to try and make friends, one of the few ways he knew how...

"Well, the being seems to have the visage of, or possessing a beautiful woman, in town... our pixie friend however caught a glimpse of her shadow, which had a different silhouette, altogether. She has the men in her thrall, spreading hatred and persecution against fey folk.
What could we be up against, and how might we stop it, pray?"

That is different.  There is an entire faction of the Winter Court that seesany interaction with mankind as a betrayal of Faerie, and sees the sort of miscegenation as created you lot as being blasphemous. Me, I like the variety in flavor. Pity about your shy pixie, I could use a light hand pie around now."
