"Nope. Gordab is going to support me, on the ground. If I'm the only one fighting, hand-to-hand, against an entire mob. But we haven't even found him yet, and know if he's keen."
Leroy folds his arms defiantly.

"I could find Gordab for you, and make sure our landlasy bars the doors."

Grease might take an involved application.  Marbles and caltrops can be tossed from the rooftops above, even by Rosewood .

Re: New in Town

In reply to Rosewood (msg # 717):

Noticing Rosewoods face, Anita adds

"Sorry about this, but these are no innocent bystanders. If there were any innocent folk among them, they would have departed when we knocked a few of them off the perch, so any that come out to attack Leroy are far from innocent. We may be setting a trap, but they have to come out and attack to spring the trap. Any that remain peaceful will not come out, will not be attacked and will not get killed. We are setting up an ambush that will only work against people who are the aggressors, so even though it is an ambush, we are still defending ourselves. We are just planning our self defence well.

Actually, Leroy, my idea was to lift you to the roof, where they could not have large numbers, so you could kill neutralize them one or two at a time. But yes, we do need Leroy to agree. But he might not want to be outnumbered on the ground either.

How much are caltrops, and where can we get a bunch of them?

Rosewood added.

Could me not set it up so only 2 can attack Leroy du Lac and Gordab at a time.
Also set up some rope to help the human try to climb up to get us.
The sort of rope that somehow becomes untried when they almost got to us.

"Hey Gordab! We're going to lure those peckerwoods from earlier, into a trap. Want to help me, so they don't overwhelm me? I'm the bait, in this trap! Our friends on the rooftops have a nice surprise for them above, and on the ground!"
Leroy says with great enthusiasm.

Anita looks for a place nearer to where they expect the hostile folks to come from, so she can hide and put the caltrops after they arrive, to stop reinforcements.

Marcus follows the plan and says,"Killing at range is my expertise.  I am not as good in melee."

Marcus takes position in a high spot so he can have access to the entire combat zone.

Re: New in Town

In reply to Marcus Blackthorn (msg # 728):

Your proposed location is a T shaped Alley that deadends on the right (east)side of the T, so there is an exit west and south. The southern passage is narrower (4 yards west-east, 1 yard wide south). Laying caltrops along the sides of the wide area can limit entry to single file, doing the same the narrow way would block it.

They do need to be lured in...

In reply to Leroy du Lac (msg # 730):

Anita will select a rooftop from which she can throw the caltrop to the narrow section after they pass.

"Basically, yes, but try to look scared, not happy or giggling. If you tell them it is a trap but giggling like a girl, they might just shoot you full of arrows. If they think you are scared then, like dogs, they are likely to chase you."

In reply to Anita Drake (msg # 736):ion-2

The 10lbs of caltrops (came in 2x 5 lb boxes) need to be hauled to the roof to be deployed.

They do thrust-3  impaling before DR (1x margin of failure of Vision -2)and create bad footing unless you spend a turn sweeping them away
