Re: Temple Hill

"Me?!" His voice almost squeaks, "Can't we, ah, maybe get one of the long legs to..." he trails off as he looks the two humans and the beastman over.

"Alright, ya talked me into it." He slings off his pack and uncoils the rope from it muttering, "*sigh* Job done right, get a dwarf."

He ties one end to the tree base and the other end to himself.  He fusses about with it for awhile, testing to make sure it holds, then starts to slowly ascend the tree, using a loop of rope tossed around it as a 'sling' to assist when there are no easy limbs in reach.

OOC:  He leaves his pack and shield at the base of the tree.

21:06, Today: Stenet Fjall rolled 13 using 3d6.  Climbing 12, knot tying.

Hopefully he can use Takes Extra Time to make up the difference.

Re: Temple Hill

Extra time helps out with the knot tying,  and Stennet ascends into the tree.
He can see an ocean of trees with bright foliage on an incline that doesn't appear to end.  In the distance he can see smoke.

Re: Temple Hill

Goran stands around as a guard and tries to assist Hograth when appropriate.  However, after his recent fall, he has no interest in climbing a tree.

Re: Temple Hill

Stenet will call down that he sees smoke and point out the direction.  Then before coming down he'll try to get a rough idea of the cardinal bearings, he's no navigator, but he understands the basics.

OOC:  17:35, Today: Stenet Fjall rolled 13 using 3d6.  Navigation 7.  Discerning the basic cardinal directions, as well as the smoke and gate.  Base roll MoF-5.

He'll spend at most 5-10 minutes trying to figure what directions are what before giving up, so like a +2 for Time Spent.  So as long as things are obvious (sun in the sky and not directly overhead) for a +4, he'll be okay at an end MoS of +1.

If he can't figure it out after 5-10 minutes he climbs down grumbling about "crazy magic lands not having proper directions".

In reply to Stenet Fjall (msg # 430):

After taking a long time, he can determine an east west libe, roughly figuring the smoke comes from the west, although he isn't sure if it is 9 AM or 3PM here... although it feels like late afternoon.

Re: Temple Hill

After his recent fall, Goran is a bit gruff when he growls at them.  "Well, let's get going."

With all of his stuff found and stowed again, he takes a step in the direction Stenet pointed, but waits for the rest to be ready.

"Might be best to treat this like we're crossing an unstable mountain trail and rope up.  Urrun leading, then Hograth, then you two priests, and I'll anchor the rear."

Stenet will hold out his rope that is still tied to him at one end.

Re: Temple Hill

Goran proceeds along with the rest of the group.  He is pleased to see the cottage, which meant country folk.  He was comfortable around them, and usually they were closer to his religious preferences than the more arrogant city folk.  As they approach, Goran is sure to glean whatever information he can about the homeowners.  Are their vegetables orderly?  Is the cottage well kept?  And, do they have any obvious religious preferences visible to the casual observer?
