Goran runs a quick inventory of his equipment to make sure everything is in order, and then nods for Hograth to continue on.

OOC I assume Urrun is with us too.

In reply to Urrun (msg # 130):

Urrun had been arrested, conscripted, and volunteered for this job because of their response to a natural function, and spoken down to, misnamed and conflated with being a dog. He has no reason to be amicable toward Hades priests.

The main room of the temple of Janus and Flora, currently filled with an array of corpses, human and otherwise, has a few more side doors than you had noticed previously.

Re: Temple Hill

Goran follows Hograth to the door, noting the bodies laying all around.

OOC I wasn't here when Goran was created.  Should there be some sort of burial celebration, even if the people were desecrated by demon spawn?  Not sure if Goran should be doing anything here besides more of the cleansing part.  As a player I'm not sure what the exact tenants of his religious beliefs are.

In reply to Goran the Marked (msg # 133):

Goran is a priest of the Death god of the winter solstice, as such burning rather than burying would be the order of the day, as the ground would be too frozen. As such, Hors is a god of death and renewal.

Re: Temple Hill

Goran says to Hograth quietly, as they approach the door "Once we have cleansed this temple of it's corruption, we should create a funeral pyre to properly renew the holy ground here.  The remains of these people will only bring more corruption and rot if not handled properly."

Re: Temple Hill

In reply to Urrun (msg # 137):

Urrun's people would make sky burials of their dead, raising them on platforms to be cleaned by the vultures and neither worms nor beasts nor flames. Those who bury were simply asking for the remains to be eaten.

The large chamber has four exits: the one to the exterior, from which you entered (west), one with stairs down, from whence you originally came (south) and one opposite each of them.
The one to the East is beside a statue of flora wreathed in flowers, the one to the north has a statue of the two faced god Janus, also garlanded.

There are about a dozen bodies of cultists, and the winged, skeletal remains of the succubus/incubus, and the body of the priest. These remain unsearched.

Urrun has no issues searching the dead, they don't need coin any more ... or any jewelry.

[Private to GM: Formal search is poor (IQ 9 -5= ≤4), but he is an opportunistic scavenger/scrounger (skill 12).
13:50, Today: Urrun rolled 11 using 3d6.  Searching the dead.

Urrun finds a few pouches of copper coin, and on the priest, a silver medallion set with chabochon stones(or glass beads) on a thin silver chain. He also wears a silver ring with an onyx stone.

Re: Temple Hill

Goran will assist them with the searching, and also gather the bodies together for a funeral burn.

It doesn't even occur to him to ask if anyone else has burial rites, because in his mind there is really only one good way to do things.  He holds a fairly large amount of contempt for the unsanctioned religions.

OOC Yes, this is fairly obnoxious of him in context.  Playing the disads here in what I hope is a reasonably appropriate manner.

Re: Temple Hill

OOC A bit unsure how to handle this more subtle social situation.  Would Goran recognize that Urrun has religion on some level, or would that escape him?  And, even if he does recognize the religion, would he respect Urrun enough to actually ask about it?  Not sure I know what would be appropriate in the game world, and I thought to ask rather than just doing something.

Goran thinks his religion carries more weight than most others, and tends to not respect a bunch of what's out there.  Trying to find the right level of a**hole without ruining party dynamics.

Re: Temple Hill

In reply to Goran the Marked (msg # 145):

In order of religious preference: (out of character)

Goran, as a priest of Hors, is all about pyres.

Hograth, as a servant of Hades, would be all about burial, possibly with the legs bound, and might be stubborn about that.

Urrun, would perform sky burials for sapient beings he respected, and possibly eat those he didn't.

Urrun wants to be free of anything to do with the church of HAdes, and maybe find some of the other Bouda that are about town.

As the pyre is paramount to Goran, he may need to find fuel; he can create fire, but needs something to burn.

Re: Temple Hill

OOC If memory serves Urrun joined us to get out of trouble for urination in a bad location, i.e. he couldn't find a convenient fire hydrant.  Things have gone well, but probably only because we have not discussed religious preferences.  Would it be fair to say Urrun and Hograth are co-existing mostly because we have not had a religious discussion yet?

I mostly asked for the guidance because I skimmed back history but don't recall if a religious discussion had ever come up with Hograth.  And, what Goran knows about the religious beliefs of the various animal-humans would be one of the finer points I haven't yet run across.

There is also the whole player knowledge-versus-party continuity angle.  Don't want to metagame, part of the reason I am trying to figure out just how much Goran would know.

Fire Hydrant, Hadereum... only difference is the fire hydrant is useful.

From Urrun's perspective, these are your people ... dispose them as you see fit. I think the only female Bouda present was the Succubus doing a shape change.

Given these folk consorted with demons, would Hograth really care about what happened to their bodies? Would he not want to just see them destroyed? Perhaps even as punishment?
