Sedric recalls the sword. It usually would not be hurt by a little explosion...

The bats seem stunned, but have not located anyone 3lse.
There are a number of small fires, on the floor, furnature, and ceiling beams.

Re: Hunting for a specialty shop

"Is everyone alright?" Mancini calls out after the blast passed.

Mancini dusts off his cape with a look to see if any tears or burned spots had developed. Seeing none, he replaced it and went to check on Norman and Kalima.

"Kalima, do you smell any more of those God awful Doomchildren?"

While he talks, Mancini looks around for a clue on what to do next.

(Ooc:13:21, Today: Mancini rolled 10 using 3d6.  Perception 15.)

"We need light, so we can see them coming at us in the dark. though, they seem so mad, they cannot help their insane laughter, I would much rather see them coming, among other things bound to be lurking about. How about it, Sederic? Or does anyone else know the spell?"
Grimaldi reasoned.

Ardenas brushes bits of bone and flesh off his leathers.  "If we're going to stay here, i can light my headlamp.  Otherwise, we might want to put out these fires before we move on.  I'd hate to burn down half the city because we couldn't be bothered."

"Personally, I wouldn't mind if this eyesore burned to the ground. It would prevent the corruption from its demonic clientele from spreading and the Guild could buy it up cheap afterwards to build something truly useful."

He shrugged. "However, I think several blocks being burned for a real estate grab is a bit excessive, even by Guild standards. Anyone have any ideas on how to deal with the fires?"

"I have no love for this particular tavern, but unless we can be confident the fire won't spread to other buildings, I still think we should put out these small fires before they combine into one big one."

Suiting action to words, Ardenas approaches the nearest fire to assess the best way to extinguish it.

OOC: I don't see a "firefighting" skill to default on.

[Private to GM: 07:08, Today: Ardenas Barehand rolled 6 using 3d6.  IQ (-default to assess extinguishing small fire).]

Much can be stomped out, the rafter might have to be wetted. Beating it could work, probably take a minute or so.

In reply to Narrator (msg # 332):

Outside, drawn by the explosion and smoke, a group of eight or nine approach; they are a motley group, mostly human, and including an armored orc, a green haired elven archer with a dog, another archer, a priest with a bladed staff, and a handful of others.

The alleyway is more decrepit than others, and has some layers of graffiti. The building the smoke is coming out of is a shuttered tavern has an old sign that says "splithoof's"
A few people down the unevenly cobbled street glare from their doorways. One looked like he was raising a switch to a child, but has become distracted by the noise and the arrival of the newcomers.

Nodwin waves the Ymid over to follow him, but otherwise his only comment is "Lead us in, Brodak, but carefully.  We know not what caused the explosion, although we have suspicions.  And if it was a Domchild, other evil may be afoot"

As they prepare to enter, Nodwin will ignite his staff.

A large armored Orc enters with his shield up and axe ready, but held slightly low so it isn't so obvious. He steps inside about two steps and stops to allow his eyes to adjust ... Boom was boom-brat? Have More?

Nodwin lets the others squeeze in ahead of him, as he feels his role should be protecting the Ymid.  However, he adds "If it's safe, make room.  We need to get our friend inside.  The noise will attract unwanted attention."

As soon as there is space, move forward with the Ymid to get inside the inn.
Oh, and don't set anyone on fire with his staff.
