Re: Hunting for a specialty shop

In reply to Ardenas Barehand (msg # 590):

"Why, yes we do... right next to Mr. LeBial's gambit, the silver chased ebony puzzle box set with mother of pearl on the shelf over there."

Jareth, make a roll, and hope you get a low result (as if it were a critical failure roll)

Through the glass door you can see smooth gray pavement with a stone border, dropping down to a less smooth black pavement, seamed and cracked with patches and potholes and scattered with some debris. To one side of the door is a large wooden pole (really an upright barkless log) by this curb, with some scraps of parchment pinned to it.
To the other side, you can see some kind of metal conveyance,  as it is resting on odd looking wheels.
Accross the black pavement anothe of these conveyances is stationed, painted mostly in yellow  with a lantern on its roof. Beyond that are a number of glass fronted brick edifices, some with glowing red writing, and others with brightly colored signs. One (with a barred gate) has a display of bottles in its window, one says "Checks Cashed" and the one with the glowing writing says "DVDs"

Re: Hunting for a specialty shop

Mancini nodded. "I think I shall go and inspect the merchandise. If it meets my expectations, I may be making a nice purchase today."

With that, Mancini trailed off towards Ardenas, making it look like he was examining various products every so often as if he was debating their usefulness in a plan he has yet revealed. Occasionally, he would add in some vague "Hmm... Yes... Intriguing..." comment.

Eventually, he was over at Ardenas, examining an object nearby. "What is it?" he asked, voice lowered.

OOC:  I don't know if you wanted a low roll or a critical failure roll... but I rolled a 5.

17:52, Today: Jareth Mooncalled rolled 5 using 3d6.  Some roll.  Probably trying to stop Akimbo getting free...

At this utterance, the yellowish goblin drops the basket of metallic cylinders that have a screw on cover on the wide end, and turns and runs.
"Shit! It's the fuzz!"

At the same moment, the ferret comes bouncing over to you with a silvery key in his teeth.

Sederic needs no further direction. Hearing Kalima say there was a demon his eyes quickly followed hers to the running goblin, and he took off after it like a projectile, sword ready to be sated. He probably should stop when it left the room, if it got that far, but he will only stop when he strikes it with his blade..

Re: Hunting for a specialty shop

Nodwin finds himself taken aback at the sudden rush to the door.  And after Jareth's admonishment to touch nothing, he's leery of following along.  Several aisles are now askew, and many items have been spread across the floor.  Much of the place is completely outside of anything has has experience with.  Nodwin stands there looking confused, hoping for some suggestion or direction from Jareth or the Ymid.  He's not sure where they are, or even when they are, so knowing how to act is quite confusing.

OOC This is just a little weird for Nodwin's much more secular experience.

"I think maybe we can talk to these demons..They seem bent on fostering chaos, rather than evil, if hunters are frequenting this place. It's just that the city magistrates, The Hadereum..has asked us to find and close down this shop. This might be a good time to leave town, or relocate in the undercity, perhaps."
Grimaldi said plainly.

Meikka cuts into the back of the petty demon's arm as it ducks i to a room lit by six large black candles at the points of a pentagram.clutching at its bleeding arm, the creature leaps into the pentagram and vanishes in a cloud of greasy black smoke that smells of Brimstone. As it does so, the chalk outlines and runes of the magic circle momentarily glow red, and the candles flicker.

Kalima begins to sneeze.
