Sederic chased the demon right to the pentogram, then began cutting the candles in anger when the demon had gone...before looking around the room.

Re: Hunting for a specialty shop

as Grimaldi began to watch the situation unfold, it become obvious to him there was no effective leadership in the group. This was quickly becoming too chaotic, with who he saw as key figures, now having lost control, or failed to command the situation now at hand.
Grimaldi waved his hand, and incanted: "Secreta Revelare!"
16:38, Today: Grimaldi rolled 12 using 3d6.  see secrets ~ 14.
He was determinded to find the exits, so he'd know the way out, should there be need for haste, the way things were going.

Grimaldi notices a trapdoor behind the counter, a safe secreted behind a painting, a number of notes tucked into the binding of books, and there are two doors you can see from where you are.

Equipped with this knowledge, Grimaldi will determine just which doors are indeed the exits, but will keep in mind the other secrets. He tries to do this quietly, but he stumbles on the way to check out the exits. He curses: "Fie, upon this place!"

Re: Hunting for a specialty shop

As he watches the entropy in front of him unfold, Nodwin stands beside the glass door and watches the chaos happening.  The whole situation is just...weird.

Idly, he wonders if the place has any plant seeds he could purchase.  Nodwin had not seen anything he recognozed as he looked around.

[Private to GM: Pray, create a 3d Sunbolt.  Things seem to be escalating.
15:20, Today: Secret Roll: Nodwin Zideqick rolled 9 using 3d6.  Sunbolt 15.

He will stand there and hold it, waiting to see what happens.  He's loyal to his adventuring companions, and does not want to see them hurt.  As a selfless guy, he'll step up to defend them.  But he's curious to see what happens, and none of his people are currently in danger...  They only just met this other group, so they likely have not elicited the same loyalty.

I think you have Weirdness Magnet well covered here...

Also, Nodwin likes collecting plant seeds.  Hee's in way over his head since it's a magic store.  Still, he might just buy a couple beanstalk beans, or something equally as foolish.  Please feel free to use it as a plot device...  He did not see anything he recognized, which could make it ideal for you:
15:29, Today: Secret Roll: Nodwin Zideqick rolled 13 using 3d6.  Herb Lore 10.

Re: Hunting for a specialty shop

Nodwin looks at the man, just a bit surprised at his reaction.  Then he shrugs a bit and responds "Just a precaution, really.  I don't much understand what is going on.  People are swinging swords and chasing around...whatever that thing was.  I just happened to be looking through this...glass I think they called it?...when people started knocking over shelves.  It seemed prudent.

We mean you no malice.  Our group just happened to stop in at the same time as you.  I am but a humble disciple of Vejovis.  We are trying to cleanse our section of town from the shadow that has fallen over it, so the flock can practice in safety.  That led us here, wherever this is.

I saw you bought some interesting items.  What brings you here?"

Since he's looking at Nodwin and not the counter, it seems safe to assume the man is leaving.  Nodwin will step to the side, out of the way, lest the man think he is guarding the door.

Mario, not hearing sounds of struggle in the back room where the goblin, Sederic, and Kalima went, picks his way through the merchandise littering the floor to the door marked "Authorized"  and extends the top end of his bow (with the light stone attached) as he looks inside.

"That key opens doors, a few times and no more. It has no special cost to it, you could drop it at any time. It is simply something desired by those curious as to what lies behind a door. You seem agitated. Would you like some complementary soothing packing material to compress? The sound is quite satisfying."

The dark room contains an agitated Kalima, whose eyes are red and swollen, and who is sneezing uncontrollably., and a chalked magic circle and pentacle with five tall black candles at the points. The air is hazr and smells of brimstone. There is no sign of Sederic or his quarry.

In reply to Ardenas Barehand (msg # 611):

Mancini nods at the glass door, amazed at the skill it must have taken and it's value. "As interesting as it is," Mancini began, lowering his voice,"we need to deal with that store owner. I made a mistake hiring those spellswords. Sederic is too full of bloodlust, and Grimaldi seems only in it for himself. Not to mention all these extra hands have sent my original plan straight to hell."

Mancini shrugged. "I would like you to find a spot you can attack that demonic shopkeeper if need be. I will distract the shopkeeper. I need  Norman to sneak up on him and put a nice silver plated sword at his back."

Ardenas whispers back to Mancini.

"I don't think the shopkeeper himself is a demon.  Kalima went after the goblin, not him.

"Now, there's something very strange about this shop, but I'm not at all sure it's evil, in and of itself.  Like any tool, it may be useful for good or for ill."

Nodwin agrees with the assessment of the shop.  "This place seems like it's just a shop, although it has a much larger variety of items.  Swords you purchase can be used for good or for bad.  They are only tools.  Maybe this shop is similar in use?  I would have to understand the items being sold here to have any more of an opinion."

Jareth shakes the key free onto a shelf, "Nay, I need not for such key, already have some fy own."

He deposits Akimbo in a pocket, "Now ya stay t'ere, this place dangerous," and he keeps a hand on the pocket.

He ambles towards the counter keeping his tone light and open, "Yer help was demonic?  Of that persuasion yerself?"
