Re: Hunting for a specialty shop

Oly is just opportunistic ... If the storekeepers right arm appears, he grabs it and relieves him of the bracelet of shields ... he also looks for things under the counter down here, money, perhaps a knife or something... a wand, who knows what this guy has.

In reply to Oly (msg # 690):

"Hey, none of that talk in here!"
The storekeeper is slightly distracted by Mancini, and by Norman snatching him around his arms.
Oly can filch any of the items under thr counter I mentioned (or pickpocket the bracelet)

Meanwhile, Mario's arrow strikes true, but rebounds from the demon's belly with a loud Clang! His hide is like steel!
Immediately after, he is obscured by pearlescent mist, as are Aoife and Kalima.

Re: Hunting for a specialty shop

Nodwin steps through the door and sees Mario's arrow bounce off...something obscured by mist.  Mancini is chanting, and the person behind the bar just said something to him, but Nodwin missed it.

Nodwin steps aside to let the door close while checking on the people he has been traveling with.

OOC Nodwin will make sure Jareth, Mario, Mellaril, and everyone else is not in danger.

[Private to GM: Remember he has a Sunbolt in his hand, conjured a few rounds back before he went through the door.  It seemed prudent for him to just hold on to it, given everything.  He will continue to do that for now.

As the player, I know all hell has broken loose.  Nodwin is getting oriented to the current state of crazy.

Aoife was specifically trying to keep the demon OUT of the mist, and get everyone else! Surely that was possible?

Mario's eyes widen as his arrow rebounds and the mist rises.  He reverses his stance to once more cover the shopkeeper.

"Jareth, silver arrow did nothing there."

Jareth's eyes glaze over and he seems to lose focus on what he is doing, "T'e Elliniká word daemon be guidin spirit, not devil of Triunist doctrine.  Suggestions are demons arose from misreadin t'e Aggadah which instruct of malevolent spirits..."

He shakes himself and looks around regaining his sense of place, "Why everythin smell like Zoroastrianism..."

OOC:  06:09, Today: Jareth Mooncalled rolled 14 using 3d6.  Hidden Lore (Demons) 11.  The big guy.

06:10, Today: Jareth Mooncalled rolled 8 using 3d6.  Will 15, resisting Psionic backlash (JoaT).

In reply to Aoife (msg # 693):

The demon is on the far side of the mist. You said centered on you and Kalima, that gives you only 3 yards without including the demon. That leaves the rest of the group on the other side of the mist, and they cannot see through it, so until the demon goes around the mist or through,  he is obscured by it, and the assorted two to three yard high shelves.

Oly is able to slip the bracelet off the shopkeeper's hand as he struggles with Norman.

OOC:  Jareth was 'right behind' Kalima, trying to give her breathing space to fight, but also trying to be close enough to see into the room and to make a mad dash into the room if necessary.

Was he covered by the Mist or just too far away?

OOC Also, Nodwin has a Sunbolt in hand, but I assumed the demon was obscured so he has not chucked it.  Let me know when the demon is visible.  Seeing Mario firing an arrow, he knows something is going on.  Just not exactly what.

[Private to GM: Nodwin will expand the Sunbolt by 3, making it a 6d sunbolt.
09:43, Today: Secret Roll: Nodwin Zideqick rolled 13 using 3d6.  Sunbolt 15 to enlarge.

Don't know how to link, but he created the original one in msg #620 re: Hunting for a specialty shop

Mario, once more positioned for a shot on the shopkeeper (while listening hard to anything happening in or past the sudden patch of mist), addresses the hooded man Norman is holding.

"Is that yours?  Or will you help us fight it?"  He jerks his head in the direction of the back room door to indicate what he's talking about.
