"Thank you. It does, but hopefully it took more out of the rats..."

She great fully accepts the odd tasting drink and food, which is more than enough for her small stomach. She keeps leftovers for later...

Lol, I doubt she would have tasted kvass, but it is definitely an acquired taste for those unfamiliar. But she would be hungry enough..."

The Mug and Cauldron

Black stands following the brew he'd been given.  Quickly he flexes his arms and turns his head this way and that.  His fever has broken, and the queasy and light headed feelings are definitely gone.  He smiles at the woman and quips.  ”That's a neat trick.  Many thanks Hetilda.”, Porter says with a slight yet respectful bow.

As the discussion turns to what became of the rats it piques the mercenaries curiosity.  So he moves to the basement door and presses an ear there.

OOC:
Porter is feeling a bit useless since his wounds are healed.  He recognizes the others need for rest but he feels like he should be doing something to earn his keep.

Porter will move to the basement door and listen at it.  He will also kneel and look under the crack to see if there are signs of rats on the other side.

If there are no signs of rats nearby and he can get Svens attention Porter wants to open the basement door and go about half way down the stairs.  I want Sven there to be ready to close the door in case I need to high tail it up.  Sword will be Ready.  Shield is left behind for this scouting mission.

[OOC How much rest has she had at this point?]

"Wait. You will need light..."

Assuming she has been able to rest for an hour or two, she will take out her staff.

She takes her staff and makes an incantation as she waves her hand over the tip. It begins to glow brighter than any torch.

"I can look, but I am going to need to rest a while longer...another 2 hours at least.

OOC:
In reading back through my post I realize I didn't really make my intentions clear.  This is a scouting mission.  I don't mean to cut up rats without the rest of the group.  I want to see how well the tiger put a dent in whats left, and to see if its worth hauling up dead bodies while the others rest.

Curious about the situation, Aldous, still a bit wobbly, limps over to the door to peek down after Porter and Aine.

"Oh, that's lots quieter than it was.  Gonna need some sweeping up, though."

He cocks his head.

OOC:
If Aine needs more rest this was my thought.  Those not resting could venture down the stairs.  If the number of rats left willing to fight is small we could divide into two teams.  One team, such as me and Thorg could form a defense and kill anything that comes near the other team.  Team two is dedicated to removing dead rats.  For sale for profit and to remove tripping hazards should we run into other stuff, such as undead.

"There was an old spade and some worn tarps in the stable, when we moved in. Those will come in handy, with cleaning up the carnage. There's also a refuse pile, accumulating in front of the house, we'd like to get rid of. We can shovel it all into the cart, and have Boris bring us to the dump tomorrow, Dad."

"That would be best. Maybe we can make a couple trips, and get rid of anything else we can't burn in the fireplace. Most of the broken furniture we can smash into kindling, but the rest can go onto the cart, to the dump as well. I'll need to stay here to mind the place with you, son. Nana, go with your mother with the wagon, tomorrow, and whoever wants to help. Once we get the upper rooms cleared out, we can clean up the place, and your mother wants to make room to read fortunes, and consult with clients about treatments for them and their sick animals."
