They have provided food, drink, healing and support in other ways, they should also share in the rewards.

Tea and a simple, apple cake is served.

Nana counts, stacks, and distributes the coin into shares, and divvies it up accordingly.

Aldous accepts a piece of cake and cup of tea with a smile, and actually uses a fork, if available, to eat the dessert.  He sips from the tea cup, rather than slurping or gulping.

"Thank you, madam."  His careful pronunciation contrasts with his normal speech.  "This is the best food I have had in years."  He seems oblivious to Hetilda's lack of Aralaise.

While you can make a tasty, sustaining potato based meal, even a sweet one, you cannot make pure sugar; that would require a custom spell with distill and flavor as prerequisites, and might also require beets or cane as a component. You can make food, but not agricultural byproducts.
Sweet potatato pudding or cake, but not a pile of sugar. Likewise you could turn potato peels into fries, buttered mashed potatoes but not steak and potatoes.
