Sparky struggles to his feet and brushes himself off... sorry, didn't manage that so well

As both Porter and Svendgard slice through the rats, they strike the same
one, and as Sven follows through, Porter's sword is ripped from his hands.

That swarm is done, and Sparky is now up on his knees.

Aldous passes the light brick from his knife hand to the one holding his lantern, then stoops to retrieve his large knife from the floor.

OOC: that's two Ready maneuvers, back to back.

Sparky stands, leaning on his staff a bit and looks around

Nana joins her brother, and looks around.

The light illuminates a high volume of rats in the corners of the space, and behind the numerous pillars and supports for the floor above.

There are maybe 6-8 yards worth of swarming rats, and around half a dozen dog sized rats, that are darting about around the edges of the bright light. dozens upon dozens of the smaller ones lie dead, although some have been partially eaten.

The rats are watching, and seem about to dart forward towards anyone turning their back on them... as they are all around you, there is a constant seething motion.

Porter swings and as luck would have it he slices into the same foe chosen by the bar man Sven.  The two weapons meet and crash into one another, causing a loud audible CLANK!.  Porters sword vibrates with the force of a storm and it flies from his hand.

Glancing around quickly and a bit nervously the former militia mercenary jogs to his fallen weapon and moves to hastily snatch it back into his firm grip.



OOC:
Retrieve my sword as soon as I can and Ready it, without exposing myself to attacks.  If I am attacked before I can get my sword then Fast Draw my knife and use that until I can get back my sword without putting myself in too much danger.

Once I retrieve my sword resume the attack on the swarm.  Aim for the dog sized rats.

The girl wore a long, hooded leather coat, that extended to her knees. Beneath, she wore a light mail coif and a cuirass of light scale in front, with light mail, in back. Leather pants, and scaled gauntlets and boots completed her defenses.

Sven covers Porter's retreat, standing firmly in the way of any rats, that might try to rush him, as he turns his back. "Good idea, sis. I'm with you."
Sven wore a coif of scale, with a cuirass of scale. Larger scales made up the coif and front, while lighter scales made up the back, with a rigid collar ring, and shoulder plates. Heavy, boiled leather, armor protected his limbs, and he wore scaled gauntlets and boots.

Porters eyes light up at the suggestion of the new arrival.  ”That there's a real smart idea Nana.  Hey Sparky, want to buddy up?”

He draws a Dagger from his baldric and holds it out on his palm.

With the light brick now in a firmer grip and his knife in hand, Aldous takes a couple steps toward the nearest corner, trying to minimize the shadows of the support pillars between the two main lights.  He slashes at any rats that come in reach as he moves.

Sparky mumbles some while moving his left hand and a foor... the knife suddenly hurtles off his hand and into a large rat.

Porter scrabbles for his sword, and barely has it readied before one of the giant rats is upon him. He stabs it, spraying blood everywhere as it squeals.

Adolus partially disperses a swarm of normal rats, but they bite at him for 2d cutting.

Sparky flings a dagger at one of the large rats, and it is now annoyed, and notices him.

Sparky notes the poor effect of the knife, he casts  and a thin stream of flame extends a bit over a man's height, from his hand

Throg stabs a large rat, gravely injuring it.
A rat lunges at Porter as he swings over it and backs away before being bitten. His return swing clips it for minimal damage.
Nana skewers three small rats and sends a swarm running.
Sven cleaves a large rat in half.

Two badly injured giant rats, one on fire
One uninjured giant rat
Five yards of smaller rats, in different corners of the room.
