The couple stand back from the group, and look on.

He raises his spear tip and lifts his shield into position, looking around.

There is a clunk sound, and a door opens in the stone wall, releasing dank air and revealing a sone spiral staircase down.

"So we have that gate over yonder, and now this, which goes deeper!"

"Well, as the treasurer, how about we secure this exit, and we divvy up the swag we found. Then, we can take our shares to get better equipped, before we go poking below unprepared. It's getting on in the night, and we have to haul a load to the dump tomorrow too."

Cash found totsls $852, provided the bracelet is sold. Leather/cloth DR 1 arm and torso armor costs $78 if new,  leggings are $37, headgear $13. if cheap it has a reaction of -1 and a 1/6 chance of being shy of DR where hit. A cheap smallsword is $160, extra cheap throwing knives (large) cost $16 and may break when thrown.

I understand they might demand it, but I question whether they are entitled to it. Business is meant to provide money,so they have other income.

Aldous shrugs.  "Ther place."

He looks around.  "Could jest call us burglars, 'n call th' guards.  What'd we do about it?  C'n you afford a bribe?"

"Now, now.. Nobody is going to call the guards. Let's just share, and share alike, eh? What we found is just a bonus. You're still going to be paid regular wages, so let's all just hold our horses..."
