Re: Seekers of the Flame

Elaina shakes her head in startlement, then holds out her hands, a foot or so apart.  "Rabbit?"  The then holds one flat, palm down at breastbone height.  "Bear!"

She repeats the size gesture.  "Rabbit."  Then raises a single finger, and points to her mouth with the other hand.  "One meal."

The orc shakes his head,  and holds his hand at shoulder height
"Zajec...rabbid"

Then stands on tiptoes and raises arm at full length over its head
"Medved...bahr"

Re: Seekers of the Flame

Both sisters goggle.  Evelina then squints and frowns at the orcs.

"You're making this up!  Rabbits can't grow that big!  Imagine the size of their burrows!  And the sizes of the wolves and wildcats that prey on them!  And without those, we'd be buried in rabbits as big as a bull!"

OOC: before modern breeding, most bulls ran in the 250-400 lbs range.

Re: Seekers of the Flame

McNealy watches this interplay with some interest.  Either they were missing some context, or something very unusual had happened.  It was very likely there was a communication issue.  He had never seen or heard of animals this large before.  Nor did he know of any magic that could cause this to happen.  Perhaps their very large and strong friend was losing something in translation.

"We're not!  Have you forgotten?  Christine has set herself a quest, and recruited us to help her!"

She looks side-eye at the orcs.  "I'm still not sure they aren't pulling our legs about those rabbits, though."

McNealy smiles despite himself.  He may not be overly fond of the more brutish types, but watching Jednesa react with the enthusiasm of a child was cute in it's own way.  "I think our new friends have captured her enthusiasm."

Re: Seekers of the Flame

McNealy looks at the uncouth man, and comments absently "I can probably find an ointment for whatever rash ails you."  Then he's back to checking on his current potion mixes as they move along.  The beaker on the horse's left rump needs a dash of wolfsbane...

Evelina finds a campsite close to water, with soft meadow ground free of roots, but not much of a view.

Elaina finds nothing as good as Evelina's site -- water, yes, but it'd be in the bedrolls as well as the pot and skins...

Jednesa happily eats two meals of tasteless non-food.  She's not picky.
