Re: Seekers of the Flame

Mcnealy purses his lips.  He never really cared for the religious discussion.  "Fire is created by energy.  It can be magical energy, or chemicals mixed correctly to create that energy.  I suppose Gods can grant that power too, but it's not an innate function of religion.  It's part of nature."

Re: Seekers of the Flame

"Svarožič bring good and bad to ogres.  Bring fire, but also fire in heart... what make warrior into powerful fighter, but uncontrolled, like raging fire.  Belbog forgive Svarožič, but Crnobog does not.  Everyday in Nikdy Život, Svarožič fight, eat, drink, happy with endless sex, but night Svarožič strapped to wheel.  The grinding make spark that make great bonfire at Nikdy Život, to drive away endless hungry dark.  At dawn Belbog lift what left of Svarožič, small lump like coal, breath back to life Svarožič can spend all day with merry make."

"Sounds like Swarovich has it bad.  He can endure the nights, knowing the day will come, but the day must be tainted by the knowledge that night must follow.

"Belbog and, um, Chernobog?  I don't think I've heard of those."

"Oh, I wouldn't say gods are nothing but trouble.  The Frog God gave us power and knowledge, and allowed us to stay together."  The elder sister looks sidelong at the younger.  "Leaving home was bad enough, but if Holy Sister hadn't been able to come, too, it would have been much worse."

"You speak a great truth, Holiness."  The younger sister reaches out and takes the older's hand for a moment.  "If only more people would follow him."

“So what do you say?  Should I lift it, or leave it alone?” He awaits their response with the infinite patience you might expect from a well-bred gentleman such as himself.

"If you plan to steal that chalice, you should just leave off.  Hurting yourself trying to lift the grate might be the least of your worries."

Re: Seekers of the Flame

From off in the weeds, McNealy pulls up a plant and stows it into his bag, and then walks over "I'll help you with the grate.  It's obvious no one is maintaining this place, and whatever god it stands for has long abandoned it.  No sense leaving the chalice here for anyone to take."

OOC  Assist Masugatan with the grate.

[Private to GM: 08:34, Today: McNealy rolled 10 using 3d6.  ST 10, when Masugatan is ready.

Went back to review, and...greedy.  Why he was looking for herbs instead of silver...  Bad driver!

"With the permission of the Frog God, it might be possible to ask.  Perhaps we should try before disturbing the shrine -- or simply leave it be, and in the absence of any wine, let Jednesa's offering stand alone or add to it."

She i dicates two rusted locks, around the sides of the shrine that may be affecting the portcullis' movement.

"Yes, just leave it.  If there is any food left from breakfast, something better than Jednesa's ration might be appropriate -- but really, without knowing more about whatever spirit or deity this shrine was made for, there's no way to know what's correct.

"Worth considering, also, Masugatan -- it looks to have been here a long time.  If it weren't protected, someone less respectful would surely have taken it before now."
