Re: Seekers of the Flame

OOC:  Evelina, Elaina:  It's a -4 to attack a creature you cannot see and -2 to attack into a grapple, so -6.  And that's if the Narrator doesn't rule the tyger get's more cover for Jednesa being in the dominant position and bigger (SM+1 difference) than the target (in which case it's a further -4 to hit for -10).  Also, if you miss, you have a chance to hit Jednesa on a 9 or less (or your actual skill roll whichever is worse, not counting any "Jednesa is in the way" penalties) because you're attacking into a grapple.

In reply to Jednesa (msg # 656):

The triger Masugatan is facing takes a final swipe at him before collapsing unconscious,  doing 7 pts cutting to the torso before DR.

The wounded tyger Jednesa is trying to pin resists, as it bolted toward Valerie,  but fails to strike her.

You are forgetting the size modifier of the Tryger...

On seeing Masugatan hit, Emma rushes over to him and asks Helios to help him.

While Elaina regathers her whip, Evelina strikes in her turn.

OOC: Jednesa, the chance of either sister doing enough damage with her whip to penetrate your hide is zero.

[Private to GM: 18:22, Today: Evelina Grattan rolled 12 using 3d6.  Whip (13 - unknown penalty for hard to see creature).]

Re: Seekers of the Flame

Jednesa maintains her grip on the tyger, but gives up pinning it, instead she moves to shift an arm up around it's neck(s) and try for a choke hold...

OOC:  22:40, Today: Jednesa rolled 10 using 3d6.  Resisting Breakfree Attempt, Quick Contest ST 35.  MoS +25

She (crouch) Steps after it if necessary (though she has a 2 yard reach, don't know how far it leapt forward).

22:52, Today: Jednesa rolled 10 using 3d6.  Shifting Grip, Wrestling 16.  MoS +6

Quick Contest, DX or best Grapple skill, tyger gets +3 for having more free arms, but is still at -4 for being grappled.  If tyger wins, it breaks free, tie no shift, if it loses, it's in a Choke Hold and next turn, oh yeah...

Evelina Grattan:
OOC: Jednesa, the chance of either sister doing enough damage with her whip to penetrate your hide is zero.

Definitely (though crits can happen).  Just pointing it out in case you ever have the opportunity to lash into a Masugatan grapple... though be careful, that boy might like it.

I presume McNealy fired a bullet, unknown if he hit (unless I missed it).  He will load up a new bullet, aim, and fire.

[Private to GM: He should hit his next shot, and it's pi.
13:44, Today: Secret Roll: McNealy rolled 5 using 1d6+2.

Masugstan is wearing DR5 brigandine armor, and was cut for 7, therefore he took 3 points total.

The sling bullet was a good shot, but at which triger? The unconscious one that masugatan and the fire elemental were attacking, or the one Jednesa is squishing?

Re: Seekers of the Flame

OOC  McNealy thought Jednessa had that triger well in hand (...heh...heh...), so he fired at the other one.  However, he also thought it was up and attacking too.  Did I as the driver lose tracking somewhere?  Apparently between McNealy hitting it with Alchemist's fire and the bullet, the "un-Jednessa'd" Triger passed out???

...<player looks back over his rolls>...  Ah, yes, I crit failed a perception roll, I think.

OOC  As a player I lost track of this fight.  However, it looks like Jednessa has one in hand, and the other is passed out.  I don't see where McNealy can do a whole lot more than what he already has.

He'll go over to Cookie and make sure she's nice and calm, and not spooked or anything.

OOC:  The intent was to wrap a forearm around all three necks... not sure how useful it is to choke only one head, when another will keep breathing for the whole.  If that doesn't allow for 'choking', that's fine, she'll settle for applying 'crushing' to all the necks at once...

Emma, meanwhile, goes over to the fallen Tryger to make sure it is down, and staying down. She proceeds to hit each of the heads to ensure they can no longer be a threat, and to try to work out why they cannot be seen. Ie is it magical or something else? What to roll?

Masu pulls out a stick of beef jerky and chews on it while he watches the action, impressed by Jednessa's forearms.  He hopes she never decides that he's the one who needs to be choked out.
