In reply to Jednesa (msg # 676):

The semi visible triger struggles feeblyand starts to succumb.

Expert skill, natural philosophy or Iq-6 will tell you about trigers, thaumatology or alchemy  about invisibility

Re: Seekers of the Flame

As Cookie seems to be holding up all right, McNealy comments "You know, invisible Trigers are a pretty unusual thing.  Any thoughts on why we might be seeing something like this?  Anyone know if magic might be involved?"

[Private to GM: He will make the alchemy roll by 6, if applicable.
10:50, Today: Secret Roll: McNealy rolled 12 using 3d6.  McNealy Alchemy 18.

Re: Seekers of the Flame

"Seems kind of stating the obvious, isn't it, Alchemist McNealy?  Invisible anything is pretty uncommon, and trigers aren't exactly something you see every day.

"Invisible is magic of some kind.  Animals with three heads at least were, once."

Seeing the remaining triger going down, Masugatan takes a casual look around in a 360 degree circle, making sure nothing else is creeping up on them while they're distracted.

Re: Seekers of the Flame

Jednesa just keeps her grip steady and continues to apply pressure util it goes limp, at which point she asks, in what you imagine she thinks is sotto voce but is actually still slightly loud even for normal speech, "Get rope, tie up, take cat?"

OOC:  She doesn't let it go once limp, she keeps a firm grip, but she eases off the straggle hold.

In reply to McNealy (msg # 682):

Typically, spells of invisibility wear off when attacking, the potions only contravene this when many are taken consecutively, or when unusual magical circumstances overlap; ie trigers are magical.

In reply to Christine Bjorn (msg # 689):

This is unlikely to be an invisibility spell; it would have worn off as they attacked. This is more likely to be some kind of potion effect.

"Jednesa hold creature, Frog God sister tie up?"

Jednesa still seems to be (very loudly) whispering, probably to not wake the unconscious triger.

Re: Seekers of the Flame

The older sister retrieves a length of rope out of her backpack.

"I'm no wizard with knots, but I can leg-tie like a herdsman would do with a lasso for branding or shearing."

She approaches, the younger sister standing by within whip reach, but (presumably) out of claw range, just in case.

"Can you turn it over so I can reach the legs?  And then hold the legs so I can tell where they are?"

As she speaks, the ties a slipknot into the rope, pays out a loop a couple yards across, then grabs the loop where the rope passes through the hondo with her right hand, holding the remainder of the twenty yards of rope coiled in her left.

"Ready when you are, Jednesa."

Jednesa does as instructed, carefully rolling it and keeping a firm one handed grip on it's shoulders/neck area in case it was just 'playing possum'.

Re: Seekers of the Flame

Evelina, working from a combination of feel and seeing Jednesa's hands, closes the lasso loop around the creature's feet, then wraps several tight turns before catching the rope under itself twice to hold the tie.

"Here's where a herdsman would get the brand out of the fire.  Downside is, this is more about going on quickly and then coming off cleanly once you're done, but it'll hold as long as we don't give the beast time to work its feet loose."

[Private to GM: 05:03, Today: Evelina Grattan rolled 7 using 3d6.  Lasso (11 + unknown bonus for held animal).]

McNealy walks over and grabs a bit of dirt off the ground, and sprinkles it on the head area gently.  "You should be able to make out the muzzles now" he states, then head over towards the other triger to see what else needs to be done there.

Re: Seekers of the Flame

From where he is standing, Alchemist McNealy speaks up in response.  "I hate to stop you in the middle of such a nice idea, but we have more important business at the moment.  These trigers aren't natural for starters, and then they were invisible too.  We don't know whether they got into someone's vials and drank an invisibility potion, or of it was administered to them on purpose.  But we know it's probably close, and we could be in real danger here.  In my opinion we should be looking for the source of the problem, before something even worse finds us."
[Private to GM:
And...  That someone probably has a formulary that McNealy might possibly be obsessed with.

Her volume seems to have returned to normal, probably much to the annoyance of any one considering trying to go back to sleep.
