Re: Against the Mageguild

Dilandau turns to face Reanna, "If you pick this fight, you do so without me."

The warrior moves out of the line of fire and begins digging out a small coin purse.

[Private to GM: Rolled 3 under skill+ modifiers to hit. +4 acc +2 extra time, -3 skull due to technique. Minimum damage, of course, rolled 5, damage multiplier x4, bodkin bolt]

Re: Against the Mageguild

If someone else makes an aggressive move, Aegis will also fire.

[Private to GM: With range and vitals, I'm going to guess he will hit.  He has (19) which is likely his skill with the fine longbow.  Damage was the minimum though.

14:42, Today: Secret Roll: Aegis rolled 12 using 3d6.  Bow 18 + 3 aim + 2 rounds aim + brace, etc - Effective skill 23 at least.

14:44, Today: Secret Roll: Aegis rolled 6 using 1d6+5.  Damage 1d+5 if he hits.

Dne’s hands start to sizzle as he pours as much energy as he can into his coming lightning strike.  (3 pts this round.)

Fairly nonplussed by the attacks, the troll rips the arrows out of its head and chest. And throws them back at their respective archers- each of you dodge or take 7 points impaling to the torso before DR

Reanna catches the bolt with her chest...but being a magical bolt from her cornucopia quiver, it should disappear, right?

[Private to GM: Critical fail on the dodge if it does not disappear, rolled 18!]

OOC:  Unless you have an extremely expensive and unique Cornucopia Quiver, it's (A) an ordinary arrow/bolt, and (B) exists until you draw a new one.

Ordinary Bodkin bolts, but magical in terms of their existence...this being the first time that has been important as far as I know.

Magic 64 states that "Each missile exists for one minute after being removed from the container ; then it vanishes (or, if picked up by anyone but the Cornucopia's owner, it vanishes immediately)"

OOC:  GURPS Magic is superseded by DFRPG:

DFRPG, pg 118:
Cornucopia Quiver. Creates endless ordinary arrows, but only one arrow exists at a time – drawing an arrow makes the previous one vanish. $2,010, 0.5 lb.

Large chunks of GURPS Magic were thrown out for DF and DFRPG, Enchantments were systemically altered.

So, like I said, unless you have a ridiculously expensive or special Cornucopia Quiver...  the completely mundane bolt does not vanish until you draw a new one.  Of course I don't know what you bought, it might be magical bolts and have different rules, I was just telling you what DFRPG says on the matter in case it helped.

In reply to Narrator (msg # 354):

Could they not both apply? Can other people use the quiver?

If so, then Reanna critically failed her roll...so will wait to hear the damage...though if she had the chance, she would be drawing the bolt from her quiver for the next shot. Especially if she saw this critter pulling the bolt out and throwing it back!

Seeing him grab one of the rounds fired at him, Reanna goes to draw the next bolt from her quiver as fast as she can...

[Private to GM: Her Fast draw(bolt) is 15 so rolling against 13, she rolled a 7. Made it very quickly, for once!]

Re: Against the Mageguild

Aegis takes the bolt as well, but draws another one just like he did before.

OOC Aegis rolled a 10, and has an 11 on his sheet for dodge.  However, I think that includes the +2 for his shield.  The numbers work with his encumbrance, so I'm of the assumption he just missed.  Including the roll here in this instance.

10:36, Today: Secret Roll: Aegis rolled 10 using 3d6.  Dodge for Aegis.

[Private to GM: Fast Draw a new arrow, aim 1 round.
10:42, Today: Secret Roll: Aegis rolled 9 using 3d6.  fast draw arrow 17.

Re: Against the Mageguild

Dilandua, despite not normally paying attention to such trivialities notices something amiss about the Troll Bridge Toll Taker.  The warrior continues moving to the side out of everyone's line of fire...

OOC:  13:47, Today: Dilandua rolled 4 using 3d6.  Physiology (Default) 6.  Something odd about the Bridge Troll Toll Taker.

In reply to Dilandua (msg # 360):

Reanna miisses a near death experience by causing the bolt in flight to disappear into thin air.  Aegis armor deflects the arrow.

[Private to Dilandua:This creature must be lacking both brain and vitals. Plus, the wounds are healing...it regnerates. Judging by some of its scars, it has been dismembered, decapitated, and reassembled  more than once]

Re: Against the Mageguild

Aegis drops his bow and quickly readies his shield.  The scowl on his face looks at least a little bit like a smirk, hinting that he seems to enjoy them excitement.

OOC Ready Shield.  Then shield rush the troll to try and knock it away from Reanna.

If it gets to the end of it's proverbial rope, he will stop the rush and draw his mace.
