Re: Against the Mageguild

In reply to Troll Champion (msg # 416):

"Good hunting...as long you do not hunt us! We should be on our way?"

Reanna does not have any idea about the medallion, nor does she ask. We have passage, which is what we wanted...

OOC  Edited to muck up the language, as that seems to be his MO.

Re: Against the Mageguild

Dne rolls his eyes, tempted to explain that troll champions don’t really need weapons, and were capable of finding a large club (or whatever) in the woods.  But he says nothing, as he has no desire to prolong this situation.

Re: Against the Mageguild

Dilandua moves back to the horse, "I can spare one day's food to ease your hunt.  Though, it might not sate someone of your size for a full day.  If you want for work, the Adventurer's Guild is always accepting," the warrior points down the road, "in Northport about two days hence, they have some trolls in their ranks.  Mostly working the fighting pits I think.  But if you hunger for the work of a hunter... ask around for the Twilight House.  Tell them Dilandua vouches for you.  I can't say whether there is place in the House for you now, but work for hunters always comes up."

Dilandua offers him three tightly packed iron rations.

Aegis adds a couple rations of his own, and selects one of his throwing axes from his belt, offering it to the troll.

In reply to Aegis (msg # 421):

The troll takes the rations, but waves off the axe.
"I may take you up on that... if you were to take the path up the way, there is a rough stair cut into the cliff that gets you down to my old spot. There is a couple hundred in loose coin.
Bastards use detection magic, and I can't hide anything for myself...they always seemed to know where I was. Fun y that."

Dne snickers quietly, grateful that he won’t be earthbound when the party walks into whatever trap the champ is trying to lure them into.

In reply to Dne Utrotare (msg # 423):

Reanna puts her crossbow on her back and carefully climbs down the stairs, if she finds them, to see if he was being truthful. She will be wary of any traps...

Does she roll, or do you roll in secret?

The stairs are there, and appear to be free of traps. They wend slowly 15 yards down to the base of the cliff.

Aegis scouts out a location where he can see up the stairs and also under the bridge, so everything is in reach of an arrow.  Then, he keeps watch.

It would appear that local wildlife has been avoiding the reach of the chain the troll was tied to. His predations must have been fierce.

"Better hurry up and open that!" the demon-voiced angel cries from above.  "The waterfowl are giving subtle indications they might approach at any moment, with lust in their hearts and greed in their livers.  The Shaw of All Waterfowl is with them!"

Re: Against the Mageguild

Aegis takes a couple steps in the direction of the chest, with his bow trained on the river.  What the birdbrain said made no sense, but he at least wanted to check to make sure they were not in danger.
