Masugatan and Christine weren't made using Templates...  and by 'default' you mean just Bards, Clerics, Druids, Knights, and Swashbucklers that didn't spend any Advantage points to boost one?  Also note Barbarian, Holy Warriors, Martial Artists, Scouts, Thieves, and Wizards all 'default' to having differing Will and Per as per template.

Follow up note... you cannot make bows out of Dragonbone as it is not flexible, just in case that was the direction you were heading (not sure if you are still refining Christine's staff or the new Allys' bow).

If you're aiming for "unbreakable" bow the directions to go are Very Fine and Sylvan; and then Shatterproof (VF and Sylvan for those rare moments caught in a No Mana Zone, also because it adds +1 damage if you have to smack someone with it in melee).

I'll politely suggest to Kalima's player that she should keep an eye on you...  One way or the other.

I'm guessing you might have a bit of fun with Gareth, in an "I don't want to think about this" sort of way.

In GURPS, Xenophilia just means that when the weird big-eyeballed sorcerer from another dimension makes threats and shows up ready to fight, Jareth talks first heedless of the obvious danger signs.  And when an otyugh is out wandering around, he treats it like an errant (but very deadly) puppy instead of "kill on sight" like most adventurers.  Or when he encounters weirdly coloured Hobgoblins who are clearly of a death cult and dropping obvious "and we're going to unleash death on everyone" threats, he'll speak amicably and wish them well on parting.

Basically, unless he knows it cannot be talked to or reasoned with, he'll try talking and reasoning even if it's making the threatening gestures and clearly intent on attacking.  I'm waiting for him to mistake a "mindless" danger for something he can diplomacy at and get chomped.  I know it's coming.

I'll be honest, it's a bit intimidating to jump into a game where the 'Private to' section is bigger than the 'Message' section...

Welcome.  The hard part is finding a party to jump into with when most (but not all) are out and about (there are a few just gearing up so to speak).


Are they?  Where are those stats located?  Or did you do the hard work of calculating it?

Jareth, I think he's talking about the immense list of characters a message cna be "private" to, just below the editor box.

Jendrich, that box includes every character, PC or NPC, that has ever posted to any thread in the game.  GM doesn't get rid of them, and they turn up again (player) years later.  I've been playing for almost five years, and I've met fewer than half of them.

Ah, good call.  Yeah the PC and NPC list is yuge.  Just massive.  Really big.

Can Mario resist one-shotting the Load-Bearing NPC in the eye?  Will said NPC do something terribly stupid and get shot in the eye?

I can shoot him anywhere.  Eyes are good when you need to end something quickly.  A knee or foot works well when you just want someone to stay where they are for a while, without needing a necromancer to question them later.  Voice of experience, here...
