Create animal requires familiarity with the animal in question or a piece (tooth, bone, scale, tuft of hair) to create.
Getting conned  at the market leads to creation of other animals... (cat hair instead of hair from lion, dog instead of wolf, camel for dire bear)
To evaluate if your character could possibly have familiarity outside of skills on the character sheet,
Roll familarity:
Domestic animals are 15 or less
Relatively common ones like wolf,  bear, normal snake are 12
Uncommon, including anything dire, stirges or out of zone (whale, croc, tropical or arctic animal) is a 9
Weird shit like a wyvern or slorn is a 6 or less.

No more pulling tigers or cave bears out of a hat, especially for low point characters.
