With the limited visibility and no way to differentiate trolls from foes, Jendrich puts away his crossbow. He readies his shield, and moves between sir Brokadin and the direction of the cries.

Ülo translates for the non-trolls, "The pit creatures are attacking."

"Acidic? Do they have a weakness?" Jendrich says as he draws his sword.

Grimaldi draws his sword as well.
"Salt is very effective, you know.. It's common here by the sea, but in other places it's more costly to weaponize."

He quickly reconsiders and sheathes his sword and puts the shield behind him, getting out his bow and checking i and his arrows over.

The deepguard stays with Rushagorn,  as does Clair and one of the orc guardsmen. The other orc, along with Fenric, Rafik, and Lourdad agree to go with you.

Pity we have nothing to make fire arrows from... I can tear off the bottom of my cloak if someone has some oil.

Responding to Jendrik (and the others in turn), "Yes, Elder Angrid will be told, her warriors are somewhat used to fire already...  as for the slug creatures, fire is good, lightning not so much.  They aren't affected anymore than most others by it, maybe a bit less.  Don't rip your cloak, I'm sure some spare cloth, or ratty bags can be found.  As well as oil or waxes for fire arrows."

She sighs.

"I wish Gorgath were here, or even Strak*.  Those two are warriors."

As you head toward an area that feels large before you get to it, you can hear the sounds of combat, with the voices of trolls shouting, and one human voice calling out in broken trollish. There is also a weird warbling that sets your teeth on edge.
