He also finds reason to withdraw, but looks where he is going, lest there be another.

In reply to Syvanus (msg # 324):

A geyser of water errupts, and the hole closes, the pole still protruding by half a foot. The pole continues to move toward Jendrich! Make a dodge!

Re: Trading with Trolls 2

Jendrich keeps running, barely keeping ahead of the moving pole. He desperately looks for a way to escape whatever this thing is... preferably without endangering anyone else.

[Private to GM: Rolled a 9 for dodge (with retreat).
15:33, Today: Jendrich rolled 9 using 3d6.  Dodge roll (12, with retreat).

I also think it's time for his sorcerer abilities to get involved... by having him 'walk on air' to escape the creature, if I can...
15:43, Today: Secret Roll: Jendrich rolled 13 using 3d6.  Wild Talent to cast Walk on Air.
Nope, he just stumbles along.

In reply to Jendrich (msg # 326):

Just as Jendrich steps back, the pit opens wide, and water rushes down into it, filling it halfway. The inner surface seems to be made of mortared stone.

"Is this some sort of deathtrap? Is this a known trade route we're following, or are we out blazing our own trails? If so, we need to find, or make a another route! There's no way we'll get the goods through this."
Grimaldi exclaims as he continues retreating back away from their collective hazard.

In reply to Ulo (msg # 330):

The troll fires an arrow i to the pit.
 The twisted black arrow fails to penetrate but reveals the stony interior
 to be slightly flexible,
 and perhaps succeptible to a more forceful strike.

Re: Trading with Trolls 2

Ülo shrieks out a word in frustration and stamps her feet in anger... and conjures forth earth inside the creature's maw!

OOC: 21:57, Today: Ulo rolled 6 using 3d6.  Create Earth 15.  Cost 20 FP.

Creating 10 cubic yards of earth inside the "pit", depending on how deep it is, that may "fill it" (or likely not, see calculations below).

10'x3'x3'= 90 cubic feet (30 cubic yards)
10'x5'x5'= 250 cubic feet (83.33 cubic yards)

So if it's a 'standard 10 foot deep pit' it's barely got any dirt in it (I forgot how voluminous pits can be). For the want of not speaking "Common" this could have been a 'free' spell, sigh.

Forgot to edit the bio before posting, she's now at 1 FP and 0 PF.

Jendrich pauses his retreat when he sees the pit filled. Still weary, he moves closer to poke the sides of the pit, checking it's reaction.

OOC:  Excluding the people she knows about.  Not excluding the living pit (that's sort of the point, she's trying to see if it died or slunk off... but she's leaving the options open in case something else snuck in - to within 4 yards of her anyway).

"The creature has fled.  Caravan leader, if you don't mind, I will just sit here for a bit until I've recovered."

Ülo shakily sits down on the cart (box, cask, or whatever).  After a few moments she fades from view*.

OOC:  * She requires a Vision roll to be detected.  Hide is not a powerful spell, but it's useful in particular applications.
