"Yes, it would take time, perhaps even stopping to rest for a time afterwards. If they are afraid of fire, and light, perhaps everyone could hold a source of either, as we pass by? It should send them back into their holes...Considering their subterranean nature."

"Also, our hunters sometimes find bits of treasure in their holes, they crap out metal, so sometimes there's coins, daggers, gems, whatever what they ate might have had on them."

As you approach, the eel like creature darts out toward you, and Darg deftly hooks it on the spike of his halberd. The creature tries to withdraw, and its blood spatters everywhere as its flesh tears.

07:43, Today: Grimaldi rolled 5 using 1d6+2.  estoc, thrust to vitals x3 (also, estoc has been on fire, with flaming weapon).

07:41, Today: Grimaldi rolled 6 using 3d6.  maneuver (broadsword, aimed thrust at vitals) ~ 14.
Grimaldi poised, lunges at the thing, thrusting his flaming steel, into the moray's craw!

Jendrich keeps playing bait, stomping on the ground to draw the creatures out, and ready to step back to safety. "Come on out, don't keep us waiting..."

The creatures come close, but Jendrich manages to bat aside one with his shield, before stepping away from the second one.

The deepguard swiftly swings the blade of his halberd, cleaving through one of the creatures. The other starts to retract for another go.

The trollish archer fires an arrow at the other eel, and sinks it into its skull. The creature collapses halfway out of its hole

Ulo starts organizing anyone just standing around not doing anything useful (like not on gaurd, not injured, not fighting, etc) to help haul as much of the carcasses out of holes as possible so she can start preparing the eels for future feast (and to send lights down the holes in a vain hunt for shinnies).

Grimaldi aids Ulo, trying to be useful.

Jendrich stays close, just in case something else is hiding in those pits.

Syvanus will help although he is not at all sure a feast of eel appeals to him.

While she's mainly concerned with prepping the eels for butchery, she will take a peek* in the pits.

"Caravan Master Brokadin, have you any tarps or bags we can bundle the eels in once they're butchered?  It would make the meats more appealing for trade to the hobs, and keep them clean if we chose instead to feast upon them when we return to the warrens triumphant."

The body of the eel continues into the pit, and is rooted to a larger mass of meaty material.

"That... is not what I expected to see..." Jendrich says with a frown, before helping the others pull out the mass.

"Ugh...! What is this? Some sort of placenta?"

As you pull on the eel thing, the fleshy base rumbles, and eels leap out of all of the holes in a 10 yard radius and screech.
